GENERAL PURPOSE

The Product Marketing Manager is responsible for driving brand identity, strategy, positioning, messaging and competitive differentiation, as well as sales enablement efforts and collaboration of marketing activities for the C2G AV products. Plays an integral role in our product launches, acting as the glue between our Product Management, Marketing, Sales, Digital Experience and Training teams. Thrives in a fast-paced environment where collaboration across teams is crucial for success.

Invested in knowing our customers, applications & competitors, and uses strategic insights and market evidence to drive the development of positioning and messaging that resonates with buyers and empowers our sales channels to be successful.

Collaborates with our marketing team to develop content, tools and collateral that drive demand. Is a brand evangelist with the ability to grasp and present our product's value proposition in a way that resonates and clearly articulates how we solve our customers' problems.

DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

Develop Killer Product Launches

  • Oversee the post development lifecycle of the products which includes crafting and executing effective marketing strategies in collaboration with cross-functional teams and ensuring successful market introduction and ongoing performance of products.
  • Work with Product Management to develop value proposition for the products.
  • Develop a marketing plan for the products he/she supports, in conjunction with our segment marketing teams, including key activities and budgets to support the retention of existing customers and the acquisition of new customers.
  • Work with marketing to develop positioned external content and tools, including thought leadership content, webinars, sales presentations, videos, collateral, case studies, white papers, ROI models and more for all funnel stages by partnering with the industry's leading creative team.
  • Ensure accuracy of all marketing materials - both printed and digital.
  • Manage direction and oversight of all product related web content for your brand; provide insights and feedback on digital tools.
  • Work with Events team to drive product strategy at tradeshows.
  • Identify market trends, cull insights, and derive actionable recommendations.

Evangelize the Brand & Product Story

  • Drive overall product content lifecycle management, from creation and editing through approvals, publishing/activation, auditing and measurement.
  • Collaborate with product management and segment marketing to develop product positioning and narratives that resonate with our target markets and buyer personas.
  • Act as spokesperson for your specific brand by translating features/benefits into messaging that connects with our audiences via customer interactions, live events and presentations, media interviews and the like.
  • Evaluate, track and monitor competitor trends; develop messaging recommendations for how to differentiate Legrand | AV brands against our top-tier competitors.

Enable the Sales Team

  • Serve as central point of contact; front-line sales support, providing expertise on product features, positioning, and sales enablement tools required to support success.
  • Create compelling and easy-to-understand internally facing content & sales tools, including sales training, competitive positioning, FAQs, and cheat sheets that will assist the sales teams in all phases of the sales cycle.
  • Work with the brand sales organization to inspire, motivate and ultimately win flagship brands through the sales cycle and generate the best customer stories in the business.
  • Help develop training materials for use with distribution and sales teams that highlight core product strengths and differentiated end user benefits.
  • Manage product lifecycle communications, including pricing updates and obsolescence.

Manage, Strategize & Collaborate with Key Stakeholders

  • Participate in the design and development process for new products; work with Product Managers to understand the roadmap and plan for upcoming go-to-market messaging changes or additions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional marketing and digital experience teams to drive the business & product marketing strategy, ensuring accuracy across all mediums. Track, measure and report against objectives.
  • Work directly with major partners and customers, in a global context, to drive market share and awareness.
  • Initiate and assist with the creation, development, and implementation of processes and procedures.
  • Consistently support compliance by maintaining the privacy and confidentiality of information, protecting the assets of the organization, acting with ethics and integrity, reporting non-compliance, and adhering to applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations, and the Company's policies and procedures.
  • Understand workplace hazards and take steps to proactively prevent and report hazards or injuries in the workplace. Cooperate in safety programs, initiatives, and investigations.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Essential Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Sound understanding of marketing tools and methodologies.
  • Strong storytelling skills with ability to understand, digest, and articulate complex concepts for mass consumption via engaging content.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and consensus-building skills - ability to work with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to develop journalistic subject matter expertise that aligns with core coverage topics.
  • Project management - Must be comfortable handling multiple projects and initiatives simultaneously and have the ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal, written & presentation communication skills.
  • Strong listening skills with the ability to translate concepts into deliverables.
  • Ability to translate trends, tools and intel into actionable marketing recommendations.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to build solid customer relationships; demonstrated ability to be customer focused and responsive to questions and needs in a deadline driven environment.
  • Proven ability to make sound decisions to effectively resolve problems or issues, by using judgement that is consistent with standards, practices, policies, procedures, regulation or government law
  • Must possess high degree of professionalism and ability to handle confidential information

Minimum Education and Experience Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, engineering or related technical degree with a minimum of five (5) years of experience in product marketing; or combination of relevant education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in using Sitecore CRM, Salesforce.com, SAP, etc.
  • Experience managing budgets.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience with and passion for innovative activities and mindsets such as Design Thinking.
  • Familiarity with Agile projects/methodology.
  • Previous work experience in areas relevant to the assigned technology.

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee will periodically be required to stand for the majority of the working day at trade shows. As required for trade show set-up, the employee must be able to reach above shoulder level, reach below knee level, bend, stoop, squat/kneel, climb; and lift, push or pull 25 lbs. Also required to make coordinated movements of the fingers for using a keyboard.

  • May require regular ground travel within local metropolitan area
  • Long-distance or air travel as needed - not to exceed 20% travel
