How will you make an impact?
Perform the varied activities associated with product sourcing and part number creation for products requested via the website's Integrated WebReq Sourcing Application. Update and enhance current Encompass third party product descriptions working with suppliers and internal partners.
Position Summary:
Perform the varied activities associated with product sourcing and part number creation for products requested via the website's Integrated WebReq Sourcing Application. Update and enhance current Encompass third party product descriptions working with suppliers and internal partners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform the varied activities associated with product sourcing and part number creation via the WebReq Sourcing Application
- Create new vendor and product records
- Provide accurate pricing and product availability
- Interface with end users for problem resolution
- Work closely with customers and Third Party purchasing to ensure the customer's expected level of service
- Ensure that Fisher Scientific discounts with suppliers are entered for the parts created, either for specific orders or across-the-board discounts
- Create/maintain customer specific pricing as required
- The POS has a responsibility to run Cognos reports for needed information/data
- Product Maintenance including duplicate part and duplicate supplier review and update
- Action on Vendor Consolidation
- Consolidate suppliers and their associated parts while maintaining product information
- Product lead time maintenance for part updates and requests
- Perform other duties as assigned
How will you get here?
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Bachelor's degree or 1-2 years' experience with data analysis, customer service or related field preferred
- Strong customer service background with excellent organizational skills, analytical capacity and attention to detail
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
- Ability to effectively prioritize multiple projects and tasks to meet designated deadlines
- Excellent organization ability, analytical capacity and attention to detail
- Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbally with management regarding project progress and deadlines
- Ability to work independently as well as effectively in a team environment
- Ability to learn new technologies and self-train when appropriate
- Ability to negotiate and resolve conflicts between parties with differing needs
- Strong technical skills, including proficient knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Cognos
- Knowledge of multi-functional systems for specific customer requirements, including mainframe and web-based applications
- Strong customer service focus
- Combination of both selling and purchasing skills
