Product Owner

The Product Owner at Vitality is a critical resource that plays a major role in building exciting new solutions that increase member engagement in Vitality's world-class wellness program. The Product team needs a driven owner to help build efficient, scalable, and meaningful experiences within their member engagement applications!

Your objectives will be to lead a suite of technical products into their future state by defining the backlog of requirements, building a roadmap of delivery, and prioritizing the work for the software development team.

Essential Responsibilities

• Execute the product strategy by defining requirements, building a backlog of work for the team, and prioritizing the backlog based on leadership's vision.
• Understand our users, define requirements and use cases, and ensure the needs of users are fulfilled by the technical products within your domain.
• Work and drive the multi-disciplinary team (analysts, developers, quality assurance) to deliver like clockwork with increasing quality.
• Collaborate with other development teams and end users to ensure that major releases maximize positive impact and stability while minimizing risk.
• Manage the full end-to-end product lifecycle, using data as your guide, in order to advise on whether the company should reinvest, transition to maintenance, or potentially sunset a product.
• Identify and drive process or other technical solutions to improve business results, product performance, and client satisfaction.
• Coordinate with stakeholders, and technical resources across teams in order to synchronize dependencies and ensure a smooth delivery.
• Prepare for the PI Planning event by grooming prioritized Features and determining critical support work.
• Participate in PI Planning by providing context, assisting with estimates and sequencing, answering questions from the team, and establishing PI objectives.

• Facilitate live demos of your feature deliveries to a large audience.

Pay Range $84,500.00 - $104,500.00 annually

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years' experience as a Product Owner or comparable role
• Ability articulate product objectives to technical, operational, and business management audiences
• Ability to understand complex technical systems and multiparty integrations
• You need to be able to handle many concurrent tasks and projects
• You are described as optimistic, outgoing, confident, and self-driven
• You are a high performer who can influence others to make change happen in our fast-paced environment

Preferred (would be advantageous)

• Experience with the SAFe methodology
• Local to the Chicagoland area
