Product Owner
Job Description
The Product Owner is responsible to ensure our engineering teams focus on those initiatives that bring the highest value and alignment with product strategy. This role will collaborate closely with our Product, Training and Engineering teams, as well as multiple departments and leadership levels across the Company. The Product Owner will serve as a critical bridge between our Product and Tech, as well as work with internal customers to refine requirements and develop solutions.
This role will gather and define requirements, collaborative development solutions, setup release plans, and coordinate sprints. The Product Owner is responsible for requirement refinement, solution conceptual design, user story writing, backlog prioritization and assisting with new feature releases.
Essential Functions
- Collaborate with the product manager(s) on the product roadmap priorities and product design, taking into consideration customers, end users, and internal stakeholders' inputs and needs.
- Take initiative to spend time with all levels of users (formal meetings, informal meetings, observing work, etc.).
- Learn stakeholder strategy, tactical approaches, priorities, requirements, and business processes.
- Leverage a holistic understanding of the product vision, technical platforms and roadmaps to identify opportunities for product transformation, combine parallel initiatives, and manage development investment.
- Collaborate with product design on design and user experience refinement.
- Document business requirements and user stories, oversee and coordinate the development of technical specifications.
- Manage product backlogs while interfacing with design, engineering, and QA.
- Demonstrate reliability in meeting required deadlines and setting realistic expectations.
- Prioritize and negotiate with the development team to build the best possible set of features that provide the most value, in an iterative method.
Experience and Skills
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field, or experience and/or exposure in an implementation, engineering, or product owner role.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in a software, project management and/or product role.
- Have a high EQ (emotional intelligence) and able to effectively work well with others, fostering a positive collaborative and collegial environment, even amidst technical challenges.
- Essential experience working within an "agile" work environment; exhibit agile skills, traits and behaviors at all times.
- Strong organizational skills; be organized, ahead of schedule, communicative, and accountable.
- Work well in difficult situations and easily navigate stressful situations with scheduling limitations and conflicts.
- Exhibit sound judgment and swift decision-making skills.
- Make stellar connections, such as tie analytics data to business metrics and vice versa to drive business outcomes and develop data driven offerings.
- Successfully manage many complex projects, all with strict deadlines, simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous real estate experience a plus
