Job Description

Do you want to help solve the hard problems that make communities safer?

Our Krarkow engineering team is growing and we seek an accomplished Product Owner to work alongside the existing product and engineering teams on one of our evidence management software products.

You will:

  • Engage with the business and stakeholders, to enable the delivery of the product vision and roadmap, in a business-value-oriented manner.

  • Make timely and decisive decisions regarding product development priorities for their attached team(s), including balancing support product backlog items, technical debt and new features. 

  • Work with Product Managers and technical leaders to understand the product requirements and enable their delivery by the product team.

  • Work alongside and with the development teams, to assist in the creation of well-maintained, refined, prioritised product backlogs that include consistent and measurable “definitions of done” - and particularly be able to cooperate and coordinate with your co-Product Owner on your product.

  • Communicate regularly with stakeholders, to present the current state of the backlog so it is understood by the relevant stakeholders.

  • Define product release plans, including measuring their progress towards completion and tracking the quality and predictability of our software deliveries.


Please note this role will be largely remote, with occasional work aligned alongside your engineering teams in the office, and occasional travel for meetings.


Basic Requirements

An ideal candidate would have:

  • Current or recent Product Owner certification (scrum.org or Scrum Alliance)
  • MSc or BSc(Hons) in Computer Science, Telecommunications, or a related discipline
  • Good knowledge of software applications and solutions development
  • Knowledge of agile software development and management best practices, including build environments and automated testing
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to understand and communicate the product roadmap & vision to the development team, refine product backlog items, and report progress to a wide audience, including the business, product management stakeholders, and the development teams
  • English language skills at alevel allowing efficient and effective communication
  • Self-motivated, positive attitude, ability and desire to motivate others
  • Experience with Jira (or similar tooling) is highly desirable
  • Minimum requirements:
  • A minimum of 12 months hands-on, post-certification experience in an Agile software development environment (or relevant equivalent experience)
