Product Owner, ISS Market Intelligence

The Product Owner will be responsible for defining and executing on the product roadmap for assigned modules within the Simfund asset management competitive intelligence and data solutions for the asset management/mutual fund industry. The Product Owner is responsible for executing on the product direction, understanding use cases of internal and external stakeholders, engaging with the development team, other product owners, and scrum masters to improve existing systems and support new product development.

The ideal candidate will have strong Agile and industry expertise to build products as part of Simfund's industry leading products and services. The Product owner is responsible for the product planning and execution throughout the product lifecycle, and for integrating various data sources and existing product platforms into a cohesive, compelling, and competitively superior set of services for our core markets. This includes gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, defining the product vision, and working closely with colleagues in Product and Project Management, Research, Development, Client Advisory, Sales and Marketing to ensure revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met.

Responsibilities include:

• Work in an Agile environment to continuously refine project priorities, outline milestones and deliverables, and identify project opportunities and risks.
• Meet regularly with internal stakeholders and external stakeholders to understand use cases and requirements and provide progress updates
• Translates product roadmap features into well-defined product requirements, including features, user stories, and acceptance test criteria.
• Prioritizes and maintains the sprint backlog for assigned products, balancing the requirements of stakeholders.
• Work collaboratively with development team to clarify requirements
• Supports Product Management team with go-to-market plan, working to ensure that product management, marketing, and sales have what they need to be successful.
• Support Product Management team in defining product road maps
• Develops and maintains appropriate tracking and reporting of product performance post-launch to evaluate future investment.
• Supports Quality Assurance operations validating requirements are achieved and working with QA team on test plans
• Manages and produces effective, detailed documentation:
• Work with key stake holders and other product manager on new product initiatives
• Meet with client to understand their needs, demonstrate prototypes and new products

Required Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Economics, Finance, Business, Computer Science or related field
• 3+ years of financial services industry experience preferably in asset management/mutual fund
• 3+ years of product ownership or product management experience
• Experience with BI and Analytical software packages
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools: Excel, Word, PowerPoint
• Exceptionally strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment combined with strong time management skills
• Ability to work well as part of a team and influence others for the good of the product
• Ability to learn new data and technology concepts

Preferred Experience

• Product management experience at asset management firm
• Product management / Product owner at financial technology or other B to B software company
• Exposure to Agile development methodologies (Scrum)
• Use of applications such as eVestment, Morningstar Direct, Simfund
