What You’ll Be Doing

In this rapidly evolving music tech industry, Beatstars has a history of disrupting the status quo, being first in the market, and innovating for music makers. We are seeking an experienced Product Owner to lead the charge on this mission. The ideal candidate can execute and strategize while fostering an environment of collaboration and creativity. This role is ideal for someone with an entrepreneurial mindset and real-world experience distilling business value and goals into roadmaps and refined product backlogs. Most importantly, you will be integral to helping us build a better platform that music creators love to use.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with stakeholders to craft vision, requirement, and concept development of a product
• Take lead of scrum teams, defining product features, roadmap, and growth opportunities, communicating with stakeholders and subject-matter experts throughout the project
• Work with internal and external contacts to analyze needs and align product features to strategic goals
• Work closely with product management/business teams to create and maintain a product backlog according to business value or ROI
• Keep up with agile/scrum best practices and trends

What You’ll Need

• Proven experience as customer driven product owner
• Relevant qualification or training in Kanban, Agile, and Scrum
• Sound understanding of building features with engineering, customer support, and marketing partners
• Demonstrable competence in strategic execution and product development
• A solid grasp of data analysis and performance metrics. With tools such as:
• Google Analytics
• Firebase
• BI tools such as Looker, Metabase, Tableau
• Demonstrated ability to communicate, present, and influence credibly and effectively at all levels.
• Strategic thinking - the ability to understand the business implications of decisions; display an orientation towards growth, user success, and demonstrate the ability to analyze the market and competition.
• Bonus points for:
• music/publishing/marketplace industry experience
• SQL or other programming experience
• Experience with music creation tools such as DAWS, sampling, and mixing
