Product Owner

The Product Development team at Lucas Systems is looking for a Product Owner to join our rapidly growing team. In this role, the Product Owner will organize, prioritize, and assess work for our scrum teams. Product Owner responsibilities include gathering feature requests, scheduling releases, and coordinating sprints. To be successful in this role, you should be able to identify user needs and work with cross-functional teams to manage product releases. Ultimately, you will help us roll out products that deliver our company’s vision. This position will report to the Chief Technology Officer (CTO).

Responsibilities

• Take the lead of multiple scrum teams as Product Owner
• Assess value, develop cases, and prioritize stories, epics, and themes to ensure work focuses on those with maximum value that are aligned with product strategy
• Provide backlog management through regular grooming and prioritization, iteration planning, and elaboration of the user stories with clearly defined acceptance criteria.
• Work cross functionally throughout the organization to create and maintain a product backlog according to business value or ROI
• Set sprint goals and ensure that the team always has an adequate number of prepared tasks to work on
• Follow and report on the progress of work, providing an active role in mitigating impediments impacting successful team completion of Release/Sprint Goals
• Facilitate the planning product release plans and set the expectation for delivery of new functionalities
• Incorporate approved feature requests into product roadmap by analyzing the preferences and requests of end users, including internal stakeholders
• Research and analyze market, the users, keep track of our competitors, industry trends, and the product roadmap
• Keep abreast with Agile/Scrum best practices and new trends

The successful candidate will have experience that meets most of the following requirements:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field preferred
• 5 plus years of relevant work experience with software, SaaS, or technology development organizations
• In-depth knowledge of Agile/SCRUM development processes and principles
• Expert in the use, management, and reporting capabilities of JIRA
• CSPO and/or CSM certification from an accredited organization preferred
• Attention to detail with sharp analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
• Familiarity with Microsoft .NET, Distributed Systems, Microservice-based architectures and building RESTful Web Services
• Experience with relational database technologies like MySQL, Oracle, or MS SQL Server
• Understanding of modern browser-based JavaScript frameworks such as Angular (preferred), Backbone, Ember, React, or Knockout
