Role Overview
As a Product Owner I, you will be the driving force of product execution. The product owner will be working daily with our engineering and product management teams within an Agile SCRUM environment to solve key customer problems. As a product owner at AvidXchange, you will be accountable to guiding engineering teams through clear vision, feature, and user story writing.

Role Overview
As a Product Owner I, you will be the driving force of product execution. The product owner will be working daily with our engineering and product management teams within an Agile SCRUM environment to solve key customer problems. As a product owner at AvidXchange, you will be accountable to guiding engineering teams through clear vision, feature, and user story writing.
Responsibilities
- Review and apply key learnings about your customers from qualitative and quantitative customer/market analysis
- Collaborate with development scrum teams, technology services partners, and lines of business to ensure enough elaboration and understanding of business requirements and expectations, as well as quality and timely delivery.
- Within an agile delivery environment, engage and work closely with Product Managers and key business stakeholders to understand business requirements and decompose them into user stories.
- Prioritize and maintain product backlog, working in collaboration with line of business partners and scrum team, ensuring features, stories and tasks are well understood by all sides.
- Actively engage in scrum events at team level and above - stand-up, sprint planning, retrospectives, demos etc.
- Manage and communicate customer value within a release cadence
- Contribute to training and education of stakeholders and customers in your subject matter areas through demos, creation of release notes, customer interactions, and other regular cadences within or outside of AvidXchange.
- Build relationships with users and stakeholders to understand their business areas and help to develop product roadmaps and strategies that will add additional value to the organization.
- Understands the product roadmap and customer problems AvidXchange is trying to solve
Required Experience, Qualifications, and Skills
- Must be intellectually curious and able to analyze and synthesize data across multiple sources
- Strong communication skills both written and verbal
- Detail-oriented with the ability to conduct deep analysis to build business cases and make data-driven decisions about priority and business value.
- Demonstrated interpersonal and relationship-building skills with the ability to communicate effectively with senior managers
- Proven ability to work in a demanding, fast-paced environment; must be able to leverage cross-functional teams to deliver results to meet specific deadlines and shift focus with changing priorities
- Ability and desire to think creatively to deliver business results
Preferred Experience, Qualifications, and Skills
- Proven experience working in Agile development environment, preferably as a Product Owner
- Certified Scrum Product Owner or equivalent preferred
- Previous experience in financial services, payments, or B2B industry a plus.
- Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and less than 2 years prior relevant experience
