The Product Owner, Software - Microbiology is responsible for competitive growth of the Software portfolio. This role will be responsible for optimizing customer experiences and prioritizing software enhancements to get the most impactful updates to market faster. The ideal candidate will have innovative ideas and strategies that foster an environment of collaboration and creativity. An entrepreneurial mindset will be an asset to this role with ability to convert business value into roadmaps and refined product backlogs, partnering with our scrum teams and developing a customer-centric view of the sustainment of our current portfolio and visionary connections to next generation platforms.

This position will join a remote and hybrid team that belongs to the Microbiology Operating Company nested within Beckman Coulter, located in West Sacramento, CA. At Microbiology as one of the world's leading ID/AST companies, our vision is to ensure that every patient has access to the right antibiotic treatment at the right time. You will be an integral part of the Global Marketing team and report to the Manager, Global Innovation and Product Management for Microbiology. In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Lead team scrums to define product vision, roadmap, and growth opportunities in communication with stakeholders to drive project delivery
  • Collaborate with internal and external contacts to analyze needs and align product roadmap to strategic goals
  • Work closely with product managers and business teams to connect customer interest to business value/ROI
  • Remain up to date on trends and best practices for agile project management
  • Utilize Danaher Business Systems (DBS) and work in multi-functional teams to enhance and support existing portfolio

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Bachelor's degree in Life Science, Engineering, or Business, or a related field with 9+ years of shown experience or a master's degree with 7+ years of experience.
  • Certification as a Scrum Product Owner or equivalent experience with leading a software scrum team using agile methodology Understanding of business value related to features and functions.
  • Ability to effectively manage work priorities and build followership with stakeholders to drive accountability for high achievement.
  • Outstanding communication, presentation, and leadership skills
  • Sharp analytical and problem-solving skills

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Applicable project management tools and technology, product development and product line management including software.
  • Microbiology (Clinical Diagnostics and Clinical Microbiology)
  • A Healthcare regulated Product Development and Sales environment, e.g., FDA, IVD

The salary range for this role is $110,000 - $115,000. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.

This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
