This position leads the efforts to understand customer goals and outcomes and deliver digital or software solutions through products or applications that delight customers and improve their intended outcomes. As such, this position is the decision maker about what is released into the product and serves as the customer proxy responsible for maximizing business value of the product.This is done by collaborating with business stakeholders, users, product design and product development as well as other product owners to align the product roadmap with the needs of these groups. Defines the why and the what--as in what the product will look like, what features it should contain and the overall value to our customers and the business. Incorporates stakeholder feedback to create the highest value product increments each and every sprint of feature introduction. Maintains the product backlog and ensures that everyone knows the priorities.

What You Will Do:
  • Gather and interpret voice of customer (VoC) from stakeholders to identify targeted customers' relevant wants and needs; organize and prioritize those opportunities; maximize value of product vision;
  • Working with design and development, leverage an understanding of the development capacity to make the best decisions on meeting customer needs in the most efficient manner;
  • Lead the delivery team through the applicable phases of the customer experience brief(s) in discovery to turn opportunities into viable product solutions;
  • Communicate and manage relationships with stakeholders; clearly understand and express product feature releases and backlog items with the relevant cross-functional groups at the appropriate times;
  • Prioritize the items to be considered for inclusion in each sprint or increment in the product feature delivery backlog to best achieve goals and missions; optimize the value of the work the development team performs (making decisions on competing priorities); partner with design and development teams to rank product features, security, technical, performance and design-specific backlog items, accordingly; prioritization conflicts that can't be resolved in the peer group will escalate to the Overtur business leader;
  • Under the advisement and partnering with the relevant development and design roles, carry the following responsibilities into managing the product backlog, including:
    • User story creation and refinement (involving relevant team as needed to feed appropriate technical tasks developed by the Dev and Design roles);
    • Developing acceptance criteria as input to design for each item;
    • Applicable testing to ensure design elements meet the user requirements;
    • Determining release schedule and what items are to be included in each release;
  • Work with scrum team during execution of features to answer questions, define requirements, perform user acceptance, etc.;
  • Own the product performance dashboard, partnering with Overtur customer success, company sales and market enablement groups in leveraging their expertise to drive adoption; know how to communicate, socialize and tailor a message to the relevant variant of business stakeholders and customers;
  • Define anticipated training and support requirements for the features launched (e.g., type of questions, frequency, expected service level, etc.) working with the Overtur support team;
  • Provide an appropriate amount of level 2 customer support to foster adoption;
  • Understand the common data and UI/X elements and potential delivery environments (e.g., mobile or desktop) of the journey that are resident within a customer activity or across related activities to ensure more efficient feature creation and consistent customer experience;
  • Partner with the brand quality lead to coordinate with the other relevant product owners and design and development team members when features cross portfolios;
  • Manage the relevant prioritized product features in a common format, approach and tool.


What You Need to Succeed:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering or Technical field;
  • 5 - 10 years combined experience in product management, marketing, business, or customer service, including software implementation or product ownership;
  • Experience translating business requirements into software development requirements, partnering with software development, and delivering software products using Agile methodology; preferred scrum certification;
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with diverse range of external customers and internal stakeholders: architects, facility owners/managers, general contractors, distribution partners, installation and security consultant personnel, specification writers, sales personnel, engineering, marketing, finance, executive leadership, etc.;
  • Proven ability to translate complex customer and channel needs into thoughtful, well-organized business initiatives and portfolio roadmaps;
  • Proven strategic planning ability, project management skills, and track record of supporting profitable business growth;
  • Customer experience design and execution capabilities (e.g., customer journey mapping, organizing and managing customer advisory board schedules, feedback and communication to close the loop, etc.);
  • Demonstrated ability to conceptualize, prioritize, integrate, and execute new solutions within a business;
  • Strong business and financial acumen (price positioning, product margin, business cases, adoption strategy, channel management, etc.);
  • Experience in the access control or door hardware fields is preferred;
  • Ability to travel up to 30%.

Compensation: This range is provided by Allegion. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience.
  • The expected Base Salary Range: $70,700 - $131,300. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
  • Bonus Eligible: Yes
