Job Summary:

We're looking for a Product Owner to join our Umo Rewards team to drive our vision, strategy, and roadmap. Umo Rewards is a loyalty-based system connecting transit riders with relevant offers for local businesses while also allowing riders to earn rewards which can be spent on transit or at retailers. We've adopted Scaled Agile's SAFe methodology for our teams which means that experience with Agile, Kanban, or Scrum is a must. You will be working closely with our engineering team, our customers, business owners, and other stakeholders to define and prioritize user stories with the team. This role will focus on shaping and delivering an innovative experience to our agencies while improving the experience for their riders. You will be fully aligned with our product roadmap and strategic plan and drive product development with our team. Your ultimate goal is to maximize value delivered in the minimum amount of time. To do this, you'll use your Product Owner experience to partner with key Umo stakeholders in the business and technology teams as you evolve our platform strategy. Ultimately, you will "own" Umo Rewards product delivery, and with the team, drive success to our existing and future customer base.

Who we're looking for: We are looking for an intrinsically motivated individual that has a drive to 'own' the performance of their business (Rewards) and can set expectations to various internal and external stakeholders to make 'most of the people satisfied most of the time'. They will define and drive the Vision of the big picture as well as quickly understand the details of the needs of transit agencies, content providers, and our own internal product integrations and be able to represent those needs to the engineering teams.

What you'll be doing:

  • Using your experience identifying and defining ideas that drive customer value, reduce cost, and increase flexibility
  • Keeping current (or ahead) in the Transit and Loyalty space to drive novel concepts that fit the needs our customers didn't even know they had
  • Obsessing over the speed of delivery for our new agency customers via efficient and automated processes
  • Owning and articulating the program backlog and maintaining it over time. Our Product Owners work closely with our system architects, engineering teams, business owners, and stakeholders to ensure that our backlog is prioritized effectively based on value, time, and team dependencies.
  • Defining success measurements and validating stories upon completion to confirm solution meets expected business value, and adjust solution based on actual measurements
  • Collaborating with the broader Umo product team to drive cross-team collaboration within the broader Umo solution portfolio
  • Working with product, program, and engineering team members to drive operational efficiency and a return on investment capital
  • Identifying new market opportunities and partnerships in conjunction with our business development team that allows future partnerships to develop and advantage the Umo Rewards solution
  • Closely working with engineers to find that "bang-for-the-buck" that drives maximum value in the minimum amount of time
  • Having a constant, insatiable need to gather and understand our customers' challenges to overcome them with truly innovative solutions


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Four-year college degree or equivalent experience
  • 3 years of Product Owner, product management, or related experience
  • An absolute passion for improving the customer experience and the journeys of their customers
  • Advanced abilities to prioritize, triage, and ultimately address unexpected challenges
  • Demonstrated ability to use knowledge and data to evolve product strategy
  • A refined ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while still having fun
  • May require up to 20% travel
  • Must be able to support East Coast Time


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Diversity of experience in product management, project management, vendor management, user experience, or customer support
  • Direct experience with Software-As-A-Service business models
  • Experience in Advertisement and/or loyalty product management is a plus Success driving strategy through behavioral analytics tools, use of feature flags, and customer engagement platforms
  • SAFe, Scrum, or other related Agile practice certifications
