Product Placement Specialist / Slotter

Position Overview
Position Summary:
To maximize Distribution Center (DC) efficiency through effective item placement, warehouse analysis, and maintaining system related logic.

Position Responsibilities:

• Manage unslotted, inbound items on a daily basis.
• Serve as the Site Subject Matter Expert (SME) relating to slotting of products / items in the DC.
• Maintain product quality and customer requirements meeting all regulations for Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), flammability considerations, and commodity grouping.
• Balance efficiencies between all aspects of the business (receiving, shipping, etc.) in order to maximize the overall capacity and efficiency of the DC.
• Work closely with Site Leadership to drive productivity, capacity, reduce damage, team performance, all while keeping safety in mind.
• Generate, retain and execute product location planning, distro/allocation sale setup, procurement forecasting, moves lists, seasonality, resets and new business based on reports, tools, and insights provided by operation and corporate teams.
• Monitor, manage and suggest modifications as necessary over discrepancies between what the systems and reality is showing related to exception reports, slot capacities, etc.
• Liaison between DC and corporate functions such as procurement to thoroughly and accurately manage all product dimensional issues & description related issues.

Position Requirements and Preferences:

• Minimum High School Diploma or GED
• Preferred MHE Certification (Pallet jack & Lift) & Selector Experience (1 year)
• Excellent analytical and communication skills
• Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel and Access experience preferred
• Proficiency with Warehouse Management Systems (WICS, EXE, Triceps, etc.) is a plus
• Has thorough warehouse systems knowledge
• Has general working knowledge of all departments
• Is a self-motivated critical thinker

Has the ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet multiple, sometimes changing goals

• Placement of new items in the warehouse into location assignments with logical ti/hi and SPOG criteria
• Maintain GMP practices, flammability considerations, commodity grouping, and special customer requirements
• Analyze aisle movements and make necessary adjustments to enhance productivity & capacity
• Perform maintenance moves as suggested by production workers, as well as those discovered through observation or analysis to reduce damage and improve ergonomics
• Use item forecast information to assist shipping department with setting up sale/distro staging areas
• Consistently maintain all location labels
• Maintain production related system logic and suggest modifications as necessary
• Balance efficiencies between shipping and receiving to maximize overall capacity & efficiency
• Serve as liaison between warehouse and procurement to assist with dimensional issues, as well as description related issues
• Monitor and manage WICS exception reports
• Manage and communicate physical location repair issues
• Assist management in quality related research (i.e. lift transactions, selection assignment issues, etc)
• Create layout/environment that minimizes damage, and shrink, as well as contributing to reduction of both
• Travel Required: No

• Warehouse : Grocery Warehouse (50F to 90F)

Skills

• Specialized Knowledge : Computer skills- MS Word, MS Excel (intermediate skills), MS Access, SQL, Mainframe, EDW, DQL.
• Special Skills : To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. • Physical abilities: : Never balancing. Occasionally sitting, stooping, kneeling, crouching and crawling. Occasionally gripping, carrying, pushing, lifting, pulling carrying up to 60 Lbs. Occasionally climbing up to 4 ft. (Must have fall protection training and using proper fall protection equipment). Frequently standing, handling, fingering and feeling. Frequently standing on surface type (s): Carpet, tile, concrete. Continuously walking on surface type (s): Carpet, tile, concrete. Continuously reaching (level: Waist/overhead, etc). Continuously talking, seeing, hearing, smelling and repetitive movement.
