Product Reliability Engineer

Product Reliability Engineer at Allegro MicroSystems, LLC in Manchester, New Hampshire
The role of the product Reliability Engineer is to plan and execute stress test plans to assess risk or validate new product designs and technology platforms. This will include Reliability test plans and data characterization analysis, new package robustness evaluations or advanced look-ahead studies to draw out new mechanisms. The Product Reliability Engineer will also assist in identifying root causes of qualification failures and drive appropriate corrective and preventative actions using structured problem-solving methodologies.
Duties:
- Define and develop Reliability Qualification plans and stress test requirements for new development products, packages, and fab processes for Magnetic Position Sensors.
- Interface with product, Marketing, Design and Packaging engineers to understand product functionality, and details necessary to perform Reliability testing.
- Identify mission profile to simulate customer usage of device during operating lifetime.
- Perform lifetime study of devices/process elements and execute data analysis (MTTF, MTBF and FIT rate) to calculate lifetime.
- Validate device datasheet according to customer acceptance specs prior to production release.
- Perform DOE on new IC packages to identify the package precautions and conditions (MSL, leadframe, Die attach and Mold compounds).
- Troubleshoot & debug Reliability Burn-in hardware and equipment such as HTOL/HAST boards.
- Evaluate qualification results and analyze characterization data generated during qualification testing.
- Drive Corrective and preventative actions for failures encountered during qualification testing.
- Improve and maintain on reliability lab equipment's using six sigma methodologies (6S).
- Continuous Improvement program of Reliability and Qualification process to meet zero defects or ppm.
Requirements:
Master's degree in Engineering Management or related field and one (1) year of experience in reliability semiconductor qualification or Bachelor's degree in the same fields and three (3) years of experience in reliability semiconductor qualification. Total experience must include one (1) year with:
- Automotive quality and reliability standards; for example: AEC-Q100, 104 and Industrial Standards; JEDEC, J-STD.
- Magnetic Position Sensors or complex modules.
- Failure analysis, product engineering or semiconductor processing.
- Reviewing reliability statistical analysis/calculations, such as MTTF, MTBF, Weibull and FIT.
- Semiconductor assembly (packages).
