Why it matters: Our Product Researcher will play an integral role in driving the vision for Axios HQ as an AI-powered essential communications tool.

Go deeper: In this role, you will make an impact to Axios HQ through the following responsibilities:

Product & User Research:

• Conduct comprehensive user research using methods like surveys, interviews, and usability testing to deeply understand user behaviors, needs, and pain points. Regularly evaluate and recommend enhancements to the user experience and product features based on these insights.
• Execute product research across all three of Axios HQ’s squads, regularly supplying insights to product teams & stakeholders to steer prioritization of our roadmap.
• Create and maintain data-driven user personas to guide product development and marketing strategies.
• Lead user testing sessions for product prototypes, including validating wireframes, ensuring alignment with user needs, and making data-driven recommendations for enhancement.
• Analyze product usage data and user feedback to identify patterns and trends, and present actionable insights to drive product decisions.

Research Management:

• Manage our product research process, owning our process, project management, and timelines.
• Create and maintain a repository of research findings, insights, and recommendations.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Interaction:

• Directly interface with customers often, representing our company and product team in particular.
• Organize and conduct research sessions with external stakeholders and audiences.
• Collaborate with product managers and designers to define product requirements based on user feedback and market research.
• Work closely with our Product Analyst to create a feedback loop to continuously improve our Product and our understanding of User Behavior.
• Share research best practices with Product and Design team to create a culture of research excellence.

The details: Ideal candidates will embody an entrepreneurial spirit and passion for Axios HQ’s mission and values - raise the bar, stay curious, be inclusive, always, and champion each other - and have the following skills/experience:

• 3-5 year experience running user research to uncover user needs/pain points, validate the value of proposed solutions, and verify usability
• Amazing communication skills
• Objective, analytical mindset & experience with data analysis
• Deep familiarity with latest and greatest research & productivity tools
• Design or coding experience is a plus
• Familiarity with Figma, Maze, Userflow, Dovetail, Notion, Databricks, etc. is a plus
• Proven experience in product research, usability testing, and user experience evaluation
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and presentation skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams
• Passion for keeping up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies
• Experience in B2B software or internal communications solutions
• Advanced statistical and data analysis skills

Don’t forget: 

• Axios HQ believes in fair and equitable pay. Annual compensation for this role is in the range of $120,000 - $135,000 and is dependent on numerous factors, including but not limited to location, work experience, and skills.
