Job Description

Position Overview:

The Product Security Engineer is part of the Rockwell Automation Office of Product Safety and Security (OPSS). In this role you will be working with a dedicated team to lead the organization in establishing world class secure development processes, practices, and tools. The ideal candidate will be highly collaborative, partnering with multi-discipline teams to promote security and compliance best practices throughout the enterprise.

Essential Functions:

  • Collaborate with strategic partners to build security programs and establish an aligned strategy for maturing product security across the enterprise.
  • Support the evolution of secure development lifecycle processes to align with emerging standards, regulations, technology, and industry best practices.
  • Engage with development teams in adopting process and practices that reduce security risk.
  • Perform internal and external audits to assess security maturity and assure that security principles are correctly applied.
  • Analyze audit results to identify recommended security and supply chain management process improvements.
  • Partner with engineering to evaluate 3rd party security risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Partner with Supplier Quality and targeted partners to drive security development plans.
  • Participate in security programs and initiatives related to compliance.
  • Collaborate with extended OPSS teams and stakeholders to develop and deliver product security training and communications to increase awareness of compliance policies and/or processes.
  • Interpret and implement applicable standards and regulations as they apply to products, processes, and practices.
  • Represent product security on process governance committees.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Legal authorization to work in the US is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering discipline.
  • Typically requires a minimum of 5 years with direct experience in product development
  • Typically requires a minimum of 5 years with product development lifecycle processes, practices, and standards.
  • Understanding of cybersecurity and product development standards / practices, such as IEC 62443, CMMI, NIST SSDF, BSIMM
