Job Summary & Job Duties

The software development engineer would be responsible for the programming and support of a dual platform (Android/iOS) mobile phone application using Google's Flutter framework in Microsoft's Visual Studio or Android Studio environment. Additionally, the software development engineer would be responsible for programming and support of Stemco's Web Portal web server. The development engineer will also be involved as a team member in an active understanding of customer & marketing requirements during the entire product development cycle. This includes research, executing technical feasibility assessments, planning, design and prototyping, validation and new product launch. The software engineer is responsible for continuous improvement (enhancements) of current production software based products and assistance with manufacturing process improvement and customer concerns. Experience with mobile application related elements like Visual Studio, Flutter and SQLite and web server related elements like C#, PostgreSQL, and HTML along with knowledge to help migrate away from MS SQL and Visual Basic is desirable.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree

Minimum 2 to 5 years experience

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor of science degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science Engineering. Recent college graduates may be considered where appropriate.

Education background in software engineering

Familiarity with hands-on development and troubleshooting of cell phone and web site software

Ability to generate capable code using primarily Flutter/Dart and C#

Ability to work with web server related elements like C#, PostgreSQL, and HTML along with knowledge to help migrate away from MS SQL and Visual Basic is desirable.

Experience in optimization of code and use of comments in source code

Ability to interface with cell phone peripherals (GPS, camera, Bluetooth V5.x)

Familiarity with software configuration management tools (GitHub), defect tracking tools, and peer review

Capable of generating documentation as per normal industry practice when designing and implementing code.

Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Ability to effectively manage multiple project simultaneously.

Excellent analytical and leadership skills.

Ability to clearly communicate with associates at all levels of the organization.

Ability to create and deliver clear and concise presentations to customers and to Stemco leadership.

Experience with Microsoft Office products Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
