The Strategic Sourcing Specialist is responsible for assisting the Products and Pricing manager implement product standardizations for all departments and markets within American Homes 4 Rent. This position oversees the Purchase Requisition and Purchase Order processing, while maintaining cost control policies and metrics.

Requirements:

• Oversees the purchase requisition and purchase order processing ensuring the adhere to AH4R cost control policies and metrics.
• Works closely with our Vendor Management team to ensure vendors are adhering to AH4R standards.
• Negotiates with vendors for goods, services, best possible price, and service guarantee. Awards business to vendors based on established guidelines. Implements purchasing policies and procedures for the department and ensures compliance.
• Negotiates blanket purchase orders when appropriate and monitors cost during the period.
• Cultivates new vendor supply sources and maintains existing vendor relationships.

Required Skills -

• High school diploma or GED required
• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent related experience preferred
• Minimum of two (2) years of purchasing experience, preferably in the property management/construction industry
• Proficient in MS Office
• Strong negotiating skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Organizational skills mandatory for purchase control
• Ability to communicate professionally with people at all levels of the organizations and external contacts
• Solid decision-making skills
