The Product Specialist will be responsible for reviewing and interpreting customer requirements from various bills of material, applying AML requirements where needed, communicating with vendors for product costing and working closely with internal stakeholders.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Review customerโs inquiry for application requirements and commercial terms and conditions.
- Identify technical factors in customer inquiries that may affect cost, delivery, and ability to conform.
- Prepare request for quotation to applicable vendor(s) in response to customer inquiries, in accordance with controlled prices, discounts, terms and conditions and sales policies and procedures of the company.
- Keep current of new products, trends, market cost, and pricing.
- Follow up on vendor quotes and contacts vendors for material pricing.
- Coordinate with vendors to ensure that pricing data is received in a timely manner.
- Develop knowledge of the organization's products, services, and customers by working closely with more experienced brand/product managers
- Recommend products and services that fit well with clients' business needs.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- High School diploma and/or equivalent.
- A minimum of 5 yearsโ experience in Industrial Valves, which includes gates, globes, checks, ball and butterfly valves. Any actuation experience would be a plus.
- Strong and applicable oil & gas industry product knowledge.
- Excellent communication, time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to be flexible, adaptable, and multitasking skills needed, including the ability to juggle multiple, urgent requests.
- Self-starter, creative problem solver, and self-sufficient
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications, especially Microsoft Excel.
- Knowledge of SAP Preferred.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Preference will be given to candidates who demonstrate the following qualifications:
- Piping and Valving Knowledge: Proficient understanding of piping systems and various types of valves used in industrial settings.
- Plumbing: Practical experience and skills in plumbing, including installation, repair, and maintenance of plumbing systems.
- Industrial Piping: Familiarity with industrial piping systems, including the materials and methods used in industrial environments.
- PVF (Pipes, Valves, and Fittings): Knowledge of PVF components, their applications, and specifications.
- Pressure Classes: General understanding of different pressure classes and their implications for piping and valving systems.
