Product Specialist, Automation

The ideal candidate will be a product expert in trading automation and related fields (e.g. rules based or algorithmic trading, Execution Management Systems) and will be already be a vocal advocate for the power of automation to help customers achieve their own business objectives. They will be excited about the power of this technology to transform fixed income market structure. Ideally, they will have cross asset experience and be able use this knowledge to help MarketAxess accelerate the evolution of fixed income electronic trading.

How You'll Help Take Us There

• Be a subject matter expert responsible for managing product development priorities and appraising revenue opportunities across multiple automation trading protocols including Adaptive Auto-X, Auto-X RFQ, and Auto-X Responder
• Attend meetings with investor clients or dealers, which would include traders, heads or trading or portfolio managers, and provide expertise on product changes and market trends. This will include evangelizing the potential for trading automation, whilst being sensitive to client hesitancy/nervousness to this type of technology
• Enable our sales teams with appropriate education on product and market changes
• Analyze client data (e.g. client usage data, market data), for insight on what is driving client behavior. Use this data to produce insightful sales material that will drive product usage
• Produce regular updates and communicate internally to champion product progress  
• Be a key stakeholder in the agile development process and act as the voice of the client, helping to ensure client feedback is being captured and correctly prioritized
• Co-ordinate the production of product collateral as features are released. This will involve working with product team, sales, marketing and legal.

What We're Looking for 

• 5+ years of product/trading experience in relevant market
• Experience in electronic trading; Investment bank, asset manager or electronic trading platform
• Self-motivated, quick and assertive
• Strong communication and customer facing skills
• Excellent PowerPoint production and presentation skills
• Analytical mind and strong Excel skills to mine and present data, Alteryx Designer and Tableau Developer preferred
• Ability to manage projects and prioritize work effectively
• Service and results orientated
• Able to deliver results under pressure
• Can work in an entrepreneurial and start-up environment

For job positions in NYC, NY, and other locations where required, the estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is $100,000 USD to $150,000 USD. Actual salary may vary depending on job-related factors, which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. You may also be eligible for annual cash incentives, equity, and other benefit programs.
