Manager, Product Strategy & Analytics

We are currently recruiting for Managers within our Strategy group, to serve as analytic leaders and strategic thought partners to our Product organization. CarMax's Product organization is an innovation center, driving and implementing the technology capabilities central to the strategic vision of this Fortune 500 retailer. Our Strategy teams embed within the Product organization and play a key role in defining and driving this vision. In this role, the Manager will work closely with 1 or more Product teams to identify opportunities, define objectives, and make key decisions directing the team's strategic focus. The Manager will also design and execute testing and monitoring plans, analyze results, determine rollout and decisioning criteria, and manage the overall performance storyline. This position requires a strategic thinker who possesses strong analytical, management, and communication skills, and provides the opportunity to play a key role in driving innovation that will shape the future of a Fortune 500 retailer.

WHAT WILL YOU DO IN THIS ROLE?

A successful manager will:

• Be the analytic lead for a Product group
  • Design and deliver analytic reads on product tests to determine the impact of the change and make actionable recommendations
  • Own the development and enhancement of analytical tools, reports, and dashboards to monitor ongoing performance
  • Conduct ad-hoc analyses to uncover new opportunities
  • Explore new analytical models, data sources, or strategies to support continuous improvements
  • Present findings & recommendations to senior leadership to facilitate alignment on key decisions & milestones
• Be a strategic thought partner for the Product organization
  • Partner with product leadership to define focus areas & key goals for strategic initiatives
  • Play a key role in defining strategic vision & guiding prioritization for product team

WHAT TYPE OF PERSON ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

Specific qualifications for this role include:

• Education
  • BA/BS in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, Math, Economics, or related field with an excellent academic record
  • Advanced graduate degree (MBA or masters in operations research, statistics, etc.) a plus but not required
• Professional Experience
  • 4+ years of consulting, engineering, strategic analysis, or financial analysis
  • Experience with advanced analytics, statistics, and modeling preferred
  • Experience using Excel and PowerPoint required. Experience with SQL, Python, and Tableau are a plus
