Product Strategy Director - Evernorth - Remote

This position is responsible for leading the acceleration of the design, development and management of emerging solutions within the Medical Solutions business. The objective of this position is to direct and curate a pipeline of innovative product prospects that provide strategic opportunities across chronic diseases, acute care, women's health and other emerging needs to help Evernorth Care Solutions grow market share.

Working collaboratively with our internal product groups, digital and technology teams, clinical experts, innovation, and cross-functional partners, the Director will look for new ways to solve emerging, persistent and polychromic health conditions for Evernorth and to support our health plan and PBM partners. This role will lead product ideation, test & learn, business case development, market-fit, vendor strategy, technical solutioning and work across the Evernorth product family including with partners from behavioral health, Express Scripts and Innovation teams.

This role may wear many hats including:

• Strategy & Testing - a human centered focus on strategic opportunities. May include identifying and driving new pilots or POC's based on research and validated needs. Evaluating current offerings and testing ways to enhance, expand or pivot ideas. Must be focused on key metrics, results and overall outcomes while maximizing capabilities from across the enterprise.

• Management & Maximization - ensure solutions progress through the product process across teams and functions to support product design, testing or development functions. Leads communication activities and sets priorities and scope. Is accountable to timelines and goals and keeping teams aligned and engaged. Determines how to create and capture value. Develop multi-year monetization strategies to generate positive outcomes for clients and profitable growth (enterprise earnings).

• Product Mindset - be a product champion to the team and instill strong product mindset and design thinking approaches to new solution opportunities. Coach and direct teams to follow product best practices and to approach all opportunities with a product lens.

• Team Leadership - lead and manage a team of product managers and designers working across emerging solutions. Provider guidance, mentorship and support as the team manages multiple product initiatives. Be a player coach.

This position will lead a small team of managers and designers both directly and through influence. Candidates must have a well-developed matrix management process and demonstrate high influencing skills to accomplish objectives among a variety of clinical and consumer products.

Overview:

• Assimilate research, market scan data, current product performance and client and user feedback to create new, testable hypothesis
• Engage in early research and design activities to define the user problems, understand existing experiences and evaluate technologies aligned to the identified business problem
• Works in conjunction with leadership to develop and build new products, run pilots, POC's or to review and revise current, existing products
• Drive partner, build, buy analysis
• Define business requirements and work in an agile methodology with digital and technology partners
• Evaluate and drive solutions that maximize existing vendor relationships and unique opportunities to use vendors in larger product solutions
• Form a deep understanding of existing offerings and determine additional opportunities across markets, clients and lines of business.
• Partners with Growth/Enterprise Strategy, Sales, Solutions, Marketing and Account Management to provide needed data and information for sales, customer retention and promotion of the products
• Lead, inspire and teach strong product mindset and product development methodology

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree strongly preferred, master's degree ideal
• 7+ years product development or innovation experience
• Knowledge and demonstrated practice of Design Thinking Principals
• Trusted team leader with proven ability to foster and manage working relationships within a matrix environment.
• Ability to work independently
• Creative thinker with ability to think outside the box and translate ideas into actions; ability to demonstrate problem solving skills
• Ability to juggle multiple priorities and work with frequent shifting priorities and due dates
• Proven oral and written communication skills across various levels of the organization
• Demonstrated ability to drive results with sense of urgency
• Medical/Managed care/Medicare/healthcare/health services industry is desirable
• Considers themselves a "product person"
• Must be willing to travel up to 15%

For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 150,600 - 251,000 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.

This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus and long term incentive plan.
