A healthier future. It's what drives us to innovate. To continuously advance science and ensure everyone has access to the healthcare they need today and for generations to come. Creating a world where we all have more time with the people we love. That's what makes us Roche.

Genentech, a member of the Roche group and founder of the biotechnology industry, is dedicated to pursuing groundbreaking science to discover and develop medicines for people with serious and life-threatening diseases. To solve the world's most complex health challenges, we ask bigger questions that challenge our industry and the boundaries of science to transform society.

The Opportunity

Accountable for commercial launch and technical lifecycle management of assigned product(s), the Product Strategy Leader owns the end-to-end product strategy and execution focusing on the largest value driving stages of the product life cycle, from commercial launch through the resilient stage and preparing the product to be fully established. As a leader in this organization you are the Pharma Technical Operations (PT) "Voice of the Product" translating the business drivers for the product and external trends and insights into robust supply chain lifecycle plans that enable patient access and product value.

What You'll Do

  • Lead and manage cross-functional matrixed Technical Product Teams across Pharma Global Technical Operations (PT). The functions include Development, Supply Chain, Quality, Technical Regulatory, Finance, Drug Substance and Drug Product Manufacturing.
  • Design the end to end supply chains for the full product lifecycle translating business strategy into the PT plan for execution. This is done by translating the lifecycle vision into strategic goals and objectives across the organization.
    • Drive decisions from a whole system perspective; prioritize between initiatives, balancing time, cost, and business value
    • Implement the Product Books, including performance targets, to align the organization with the lifecycle strategy.
  • Set end to end strategy performance targets across the lifecycle ensuring long term execution is on track for delivery of products. This will include performance against benchmark to drive Best in Class supply chains. Set targets to deliver the commercial ambition for the product delivering business benefit (e.g. cost connected to pricing, format focused on customer need, access for patient reach). This requires deep understanding and connection to GPS and affiliates to translate business benefits into execution. Actively seek external insights and competitive landscape, connect and translate the insight to challenge and shape the lifecycle strategy.
  • Develop scenarios and prepare options for the supply chain to respond to change. Understand key drivers and interdependencies; predict and articulate the multiple implications and outcomes emerging from strategic decisions. This will include changes in commercial forecasting and prepare product supply chains to deliver the upside of the forecast while handling the risk of the potential downside.
  • Effectively manage holistic end-to-end strategic risk, ensuring the robustness and resiliency of the supply chain through its lifecycle.
  • Actively drive and support the LRP planning through the probabilistic forecast for the network review, ensuring an enterprise strategy connecting product and network strategy.

Who You Are:

  • You have BS or MS Degree (life sciences, engineering and/or business disciplines preferred)
  • You have 10 years of multi-disciplinary work experience in the Pharma / Biotech industry (15+ years are preferred) and seven or more years previous senior people management or senior matrix team leadership experience. 10+ years are preferred.
  • You have a deep understanding of the pharmaceutical commercial markets and process development; excellent business acumen
  • You have an ability to effectively handle ambiguity and uncertainty with a proven ability to build trustful and effective relationships
  • You think strategically and translate strategies into actionable plans
  • You have strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to influence at all levels
  • You have International/global experience (strongly preferred).
