Designs and develops electronic or electromechanical equipment or systems oriented products and prepares related installation, operation, and maintenance specifications and instructions, analyzes equipment to establish operating data and conducts experimental tests, analyzes engineering proposals and related technical data to determine feasibility of assigning new equipment or modifying existing equipment. Responsible for prototype construction and checkout, complies operational data and prepares customer application information. Responds to customer/client requests or events as they occur. Develops solutions to problems utilizing formal education and judgement.

Qualifications:

Minimum of Bachelors of Science degree in Engineering or Associates degree with 2+ yrs. experience in the field

2+ year of troubleshooting servers and networking, both hardware and software

2+ years supporting IT or datacenter infrastructure in a production environment

Excellent decision making, time management, and communication skills

Vendor management including direct supervision of 3rd party service providers

Ability to install, configure, and maintain servers and network switches

Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge of KVM and container virtualization

Knowledge of network storage systems

Experience working with servers and client systems; including technical understanding of the architecture and how platform HW/SW/FW work together

Experience supporting software developers through support requests
