Location/Division

From sample to knowledge to results, the Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry business develops and manufactures leading-edge chromatography and mass spectrometry instruments, consumables, and software solutions for customers working in the analytical sciences (routine testing markets) and scientific research. Our complete workflow solutions enable productivity and efficiency for customers performing food and beverage testing and manufacturing, environmental and industrial testing, biopharma QA/QC, toxicology, and anti-doping. For scientific research customers, our products support a range of focus areas, including proteomics, metabolomics, drug discovery, and clinical research.

Position is located at our San Jose, CA site.

How will you make an impact?

We are seeking a motivated candidate that enjoys working collaboratively with a diverse team of mechanical and electrical engineers and chemists to identify and understand any repeating failures that our teams in the field service teams customers report to improve our product offering for our end users.

What will you do?

  • Perform failure analysis of LCMS products and parts for medical devices and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform detailed root-cause-analysis and work with our Quality teams on improvements or preventative actions.
  • Partner with our Supplier Quality team to communicate supplier quality issues.
  • Identify, develop and implement customer centric support solutions for future products.
  • Work with R & D to ensure new products meet product design criteria for serviceability and develop hardware validation criteria.
  • Summarize the work in detailed reports on identified findings and present these to our internal teams
  • Other miscellaneous duties might be assigned.

How will you get here?

  • Minimum educational requirement is a BS in Science (Chemistry, Physics) or an undergraduate in Mechanical Engineering

Experience

  • 0 years of experience required but a plus

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Analyzing issues on scientific and analytical instruments
  • Understanding the concept of failure analysis
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Experienced in MS Office products
  • Good mechanical skills (assembly and disassembly of parts and systems)
  • Good presentation skills

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range estimated for this position based in California is $77,300.00-$115,925.00.

This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. We offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package that our U.S. colleagues and their families can count on, which includes:
