Product Team Manager

The hiring range for this role is $98,000 - $122,000.
The Product Team Manager heads up a team which represents the voice of stakeholders (consumers, retailers, suppliers, internal users, management) by maintaining and prioritizing the backlog to ensure that engineering teams are working on stories and releasing code that maximize business value consistent with business objectives. The ideal candidate will be intimately familiar with software based retail commerce solutions, have prior software product management experience, be a servant leader, and can identify aggregate feature sets that progress technical and business goals. This role assists in developing vision and strategic direction for all of SmartEtailing's software applications and then leading a team to accomplish company goals.
Essential Functions

• Oversee the Product Team to ensure the right bugs and features are prioritized and ready for Development across the entire application.
• Collaborates on creating and then maintains a comprehensive vision for the application and ensures new features are designed and delivered with that in mind.
• Works closely with and is accountable to Development to ensure the backlog is full and features are designed with input from Senior Developers.
• Assess business value, to prioritize and write users stories based on personas, epics and themes to ensure work focuses on those projects that are aligned with product strategy.
• Collaborate with stakeholders both external (retail and supplier end users) and internal to translate business and technical requirements into user and technical stories with acceptance criteria for Engineering scrum teams to implement
• Create, maintain and own the Product backlog, carefully ordered to best achieve business goals
• Conducts project kick off, closures and post mortems
• Holds status meetings and reporting (tracking timeline, cost, scope)
• Management of beta groups and overall feature rollout
• Coaches individual team members and leads the Product Team to accomplish its goals

Qualifications

• 4+ years of product management experience, in Scrum and Agile
• Highly knowledgeable in retail commerce software best practices
• Proven leader, with experience mentoring a team
• Strong knowledge of relevant agile metrics and charts (e.g. burndown, velocity, burnup, CFD) and ability to interpret them in conjunction with release planning
• Proven analytical and problem-solving skills including a thorough understanding of how to interpret internal business and technical needs and translate them into application and operational requirements
• Ability to truly listen to stakeholders as well as make them feel heard.
• Experience in the SaaS sector strongly preferred
• Understanding of business strategy and the importance of saying "no" to the right projects.
• Strong communication skills
• PMP certification
