Product Test Engineer

Description

We are looking for a talented Test Technicians to join our team specializing in our inhouse Electrolyzer Testing processes for our Accelera Business unit. This position is based in Fridley, MN!

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

Operates, calibrates, installs, programs, repairs, designs, and fabricates instrumentation and data acquisition systems.

Designs, develops, and documents new data acquisition systems; serves as expert in hardware and software systems; coordinates and sets up tests;

troubleshoots problems.

Schedules and prioritizes projects in order to produce optimal results; schedules work by interfacing with customers both internal and external as well as support

groups within the company.

Specifies, purchases, and maintains equipment; fabricates prototypes; designs and executes field tests.

Uses a number of general tools including but not limited to digital multimeter, soldering iron, function generator, and frequency generator.

Reads and interprets electrical wiring diagrams.

Communicates (oral and written) technical information to a diverse customer base.

Participates in the maintenance of quality procedures.

Develops and conducts training programs; provides counseling, mentoring, and coaching.

Serves as company representatives in various capacities to customers, suppliers, and outside agencies.

Interacts effectively with employees throughout the company.

Demonstrates adaptability and responsiveness to changing work needs and willingness to undertake new tasks as they become evident; initiates, develops,

Leads, and participates in improvement projects.

Manages own work and adjusts work priorities in order to meet the demands; participates in self and team audits and associated

corrective action; plans and engages in continuous learning in order to be prepared for changing work demands.

Data Reporting - Prepares documentation in a manner which clearly organizes and presents testing methods, instrument settings, the data and analysis to allow the engineer and customer to understand the results and form accurate conclusions and recommendations.

Product Function Test System Design - Interprets test equipment specifications from test standards or lab customer requirements; selects and integrates appropriate equipment, instrumentation and software to control boundary conditions and collect measurement data; assesses capability of the lab equipment against the requirements and support infrastructure.

Test Setup and Configuration - Interprets test plan to determine optimal location and orientation within a test space in accordance with local safety and environmental requirements and fabricates required system with appropriate materials.

Test Article Build - Assembles test articles according to test requirements, including all necessary installation or accommodations for instrumentation, in a manner that allows the test articles to successfully undergo product functional test.

Education, Licenses, Certifications

High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.

A regionally applicable Certification (e.g. US Department of Labor) or two year Associates Degree from an accredited college program in a relevant field of study preferred

Experience as a service techician/engineer or simular is a plus

This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Experience

Requires significant relevant work experience or specialized skills obtained through education, training or on-the-job experience.

n Conduct tests and inspections to evaluate the quality and performance of assembled hydrogen electrolyzer products

n Follow procedures and execute test protocols at submodule or system level (IO loop checks, calibration of instruments, alarm tests) with a PLC controlled system.

n Adhere to safe working methods while executing the tests.

n Identify and troubleshoot issues and rectify malfunctions or defects by working with production staff, engineering, project management, supply chain and logistics

n Fill in tests reports and document test results

n Work effectively with various tools, measuring devices and equipment

n Being able to read and interpret engineering drawings (electrical drawings, mechanical 3D/2D drawings, P&IDs), technical datasheets and product specifications

n Assist during and execute Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) with customer attendance

n Problem-solving skills and attention to detail are required. Communicate test results and highlight issues or concerns.

n Set up, follow up and resolve punch list items during and after finalizing the testing process

n Working in shifts
