Production Accountant

Title:Production Accountant Department:Accounting (Production Finance) Direct Supervisor:VP, Production Finance General Summary: The Production Accountant is responsible for the administrative aspects of unscripted television production finance, including budgeting, cost tracking, reporting, and compliance. This role ensures that all production accounting procedures align with company policies, union requirements, and applicable laws and regulations. Essential Functions: · Responsible for all general administrative accounting duties regarding current productions. · Processes Accounts Receivable. · Audits and pays show accounts as required by the demands of the production or network. · Audits and processes submitted timecards, purchase orders, and petty cash. · Audits and reconciles bill backs. · Performs monthly bank reconciliations for production accounts. Other Duties & Responsibilities: · Prepares and processes wire transfers. · Performs monthly bank reconciliations for production accounts. Qualifications: · Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred, or equivalent work experience. · Minimum of 3 years’ experience in television production accounting, preferably unscripted/reality TV. · Solid understanding of payroll tax laws and other financial rules and regulations governing the state or locality in which the production will be filming. · Working knowledge of entertainment industry accounting software (e.g., EP SmartAccounting) Physical Demands: · This position requires heavy computer use. · Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time. · Ability to visually review fine details such as lines on a spreadsheet with accuracy and efficiency. · Ability to properly manage stress during times of increased workloads or when approaching deadlines. Work Environment: · This role operates in an office environment with standing working hours of Monday through Friday from 9:30 am to 6:00 pm · Hybrid or remote work arrangements may be available based on needs of the company Classification:Exempt Salary Range:$ 2,000 - $3,500 weekly The company is an equal opportunity employer.
