Production Designer

Summary

F&G is hiring a Production Designer to join our growing Design and Development team! Your primary role will be to produce and edit an array of marketing materials to support our Retail Sales, Corporate and HR functions. We operate within a regulated industry, so our materials can be complicated and very specific. We require strict attention to language, product and design standards. The successful candidate must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Our growing team is largely based in Des Moines, IA, but we welcome remote candidates. 

Duties and Responsibilities

• Work closely with senior designers on creative direction
• Manage multiple pdfs, brochures, edits and save each iteration within strict naming convention
• Adhere to current branding guidelines
• Package and preflight files for release to printers or media partners
• Collaborate closely with writers and designers
• Conduct press checks
• Catalog and reference art for future projects
• Troubleshoot problems as they arise with both the creative team and the printer
• Work within a team environment, offering backup support and assistance as needed.
• Follow a development timeline to ensure tasks are being completed on time

Experience and Education Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in design or other related positions is preferred for this position. An online portfolio that demonstrates clear knowledge of print production, layout and thoughtful, clean design may suffice in the absence of a degree.
• The successful candidate must have a solid knowledge of print processes and should be adept with software applications that include PowerPoint, InDesign, Photoshop, Acrobat, Illustrator, Word and Excel.
• Experience with digital content such as websites, social media, online advertising along with basic knowledge of Content Management Systems is a nice-to-have.
• Experience within the Financial Services or Insurance industry is a plus.
