Production Financial Analyst

Summary

The Production Financial Analyst for Animation will be a key strategic partner within the Series and Feature Production Finance team in the support and analysis of production plans that represent the creative vision of the film makers. They will be instrumental in generating cost reports, cash flows, departmental reporting while evaluating and analyzing risks.

Responsibilities:

● Support each Production with generating and evaluating weekly cost reports for review.
● Evaluating weekly variances and elevating concerns as they arise throughout the life of
production.
● Partner with the assigned Production Finance Lead to prepare adhoc analysis for tracking an EFC Projection for worst, likely and best case what-if scenarios.
● Manage the tracking of Episodic Writing, Voice, Animation Vendor and Music expenditures for real-time analysis and review by both the Production Finance Lead and Producers.
● Update and submit weekly or monthly reporting of Production titles with the Studio Finance department.
● Perform monthly reconciliations for miscoded transactions.
● Initiating series writer and cast talent payroll, minimal accounts payable, vendor setup and generating weekly financial actuals processed weekly and loaded into SAP.
● Comprehend and apply the Business Intelligence tool used for syncing of financial actuals, crewing schedules and artist rates for Cost Reporting, various cross show analysis and all research evaluation requests.

Qualifications:

● Two (2) years of Animation/VFX Production accounting/finance experience preferred. Familiarity with the 839 Animation union and a strong track record for accuracy and standard accounting protocols (accounts payable, payroll, expense management).
● Strong excel based analytics abilities including vlookups, sumifs, and pivot tables. SAP, Movie Magic budgeting & Business Intelligence cost reporting experience a plus.
● Business or Accounting degree preferred.
● Strong verbal and written communication skills. Eager to learn.
● Must be self-motivated, disciplined, highly organized and able to prioritize multiple tasks. Ability to keep cool under pressure.

The anticipated base salary for this position is $60,000/year to $78,000/year. This role may also qualify for incentives and/or comprehensive benefits. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location of the position.
