Production Manager

Job Summary:

As the production manager, you will play a pivotal role in the growth and success of the company. The production manager provides leadership and is responsible for the safety, quality, delivery and efficiency of all production operations. Additionally, the production Manager is accountable for the hiring and performance management of all production supervisors, leads and operators. The production manager partners with other key leaders to drive continuous improvement and optimization of production processes.

What You’ll Do: 

• Responsible for all production operations across all shifts, accountable to all associated performance metrics influenced by the production department
• Become an expert of the production process and take ownership of all aspects of production
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives by collaborating with internal and external stakeholders; utilize lean principles to promote and sustain process changes
• Create production plans and verify that daily plans and schedules are in alignment with the plant and customer needs
• Troubleshoot and problem solve issues alongside other departments
• Hire, train, coach, and develop production department leadership and production team members
• Establish operational procedures (SOPs) for all production operations; create a culture of accountability within the department
• Confer with department heads to ensure coordination of production activities with other functions such as warehouse, inventory control, maintenance, and engineering
• Participate in the development of safety programs while driving plant safety culture
• Allocate resources effectively, fully utilize assets to produce optimal results, and trigger corrective actions when necessary
• Collect and analyze production data to reduce inefficiencies and increase throughput without reducing quality

What You’ll Need to Have:

Required: 

• Strong interpersonal skills, addressing complaints/resolving problems, rewarding/disciplining employees, and appraising performance 
• Demonstrate proven leadership experience in a manufacturing setting; managerial experience a must
• Ability to create and work in collaborative group environments
• Strong IT skills, including being proficient with Microsoft Office/Google Suite
• Experience with lean manufacturing principles
• Strong data interpretation skills and ability to translate data to actionable process changes
• Must work well under pressure in a very fast paced environment and ability to work independently with moderate direction

Preferred:

• Bachelor’s Degree
• Conversational Spanish
• 5+ years of experience in the manufacturing field with managerial experience
• 1+ years working in a textile or similar manufacturing environment
