This is an onsite role located at our Rancho Cucamonga, CA.

Job Description

The Production Manager is responsible for safety, quality and production of all coated steel products processed in their assigned department(s) at the Steelscape facility. The incumbent ensures that production goals are met, customer demands are satisfied, and all manufacturing associates work safely within a self-directed team environment.

This Production Manager is responsible for the day-to-day implementation of the business plans by achieving or exceeding KPI’s by providing leadership, employee development and ensuring continuous improvement manufacturing excellence strategies are implemented. They will be responsible for maintaining the profitability and competitiveness of the organization; developing self-directed working teams, providing feedback, and managing performance to ensure overall team development. This Manager will act as a coach to remove obstacles to increase performance and strengthen collaborative relationships within the team.Ā 

  • Using Felt Leadership (HOP), implement and ensure high performance of safety metrics. Walk the floor, train and maintain standards according to BSL HSE management standards.Ā 
  • Provide leadershipĀ and direction to site employees, ensureĀ skills and competenciesĀ of team members are developed, set job goals, and align with business expectations.Ā Coach, provide feedback to employee, create training opportunities, and identify workforce planning needs of department.Ā 
  • Manage and facilitate continuous improvement activities and createĀ manufacturing excellence.Ā Facilitate quality, service improvements and cost reduction through efficient manufacturing practices, collaboration and use of continuous improvement methodology.
  • Lead efforts to troubleshoot quality and productivity problems within the business.
  • Develop and administer budget while improving conversion cost and reducing variances.
  • Work with production teams, Schedulers, Quality System, Facilitators, logistics and plant maintenance to ensure that production goals are met or exceeded.
  • Manage inventory and coordinate with line Schedulers.
  • Manage maintenance and reliability tasks to ensure continuity of operations.
  • Manage capital appropriations for current and future for respective department.
  • Ensure CAPEX and cost savings projects are completed on time, within budget and with forecast improvements.

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or Engineering or related field or 10+ years relevant experience in lieu of degree
  • 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
  • 5 years of experience in a supervisory or people management role

Preferred:

  • 10 years of experience in manufacturing environment
  • 5 years of Steelscape Product experience
  • SAP experience
  • Manufacturing automation experience
  • Data analytics experience

Additional Information

Pay Range:

$117,486- $176,229 annually.
