Job Description

Production Lead Duties:

  • Ensures safe work environment, adheres to the safety and lifesaving rules.
  • Quality minded understands the impact of poor-quality decisions. 
  • Responsible for operational metrics, financial plan, productivity, OTD, TAT, pitch performance, WIP inventory, materials, maintenance, and coordinating with planning department to meet the daily, weekly deliverables.
  • Partners with the planner’s identifying material and capacity constraints.
  • Lead and communicate effectively throughout the organization, role model, mentor, team player to the CAZ staff.
  • Assist Production supervisors in evaluating shift performance and assists in improving operational metrics.
  • Work with the Business Units, addressing non-conformances, RCCA, change requests, etc.
  • General understanding of all equipment used within the department. 
  • Daily ensures TPM are completed, coordinates with maintenance to plan equipment down time.
  • Maintain a clean, organized work environment enforces 5s principles, standardize, eliminate waste, inconsistencies and variations within the processes.
  • Participates in continuous improvement activities. 
  • Compliance to technical data, shop travelers, QCPs, quality alerts, etc. as they relate to all production activities.
  • Provides continuous training for the operations assigned to them. Ensures department is 95% or above in required training needs. 
  • Regular attendance and punctuality including willingness to work overtime, including weekends, holidays and off shift hours.
  • Adhere to and promote Corporate Code of Ethical Standards.
  • Ability to fill temporary voids as an operator to ensure proper flow of hardware through multiple processes.
  • Perform administrative tasks as assigned by the Production Supervisor.
  • Perform other tasks in the facility as required by Management.

Qualifications

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Problem solving and leadership ability.
  • Practical shop knowledge, machining, welding, brazing, blending, plating, coating/vacuum furnaces, inspection and related disciplines as it pertains to the assigned business area.
  • Ability to accurately interpret specifications and/or work in-process documents.
  • Self-motivated with a high level of ownership and accountability.
  • Excellent knowledge of computer programs such Chromm, Microsoft excel, word etc.
