Job Description

As a member of the BCP's Middletown team, the Production Planner is responsible for overseeing the production planning of all Production Line Processes. This includes preparing production schedules to maximize productivity whilst meeting customer needs, assigning raw coils to orders, planning production down day activities (squeegee roll changes, wet section cleaning activities, etc.), maintaining stock of production consumables (packaging materials, skids, cores, chemicals, lead strips, solvents, etc.), ensuring that production Oracle data is accurately maintained, managing paint inventory and paint usage KPI’s, investigating paint overuse/underuse events, investigating significant work order variances and coordinating disposal of aged paint.

The Production Planner is also a key support resource to the day-to-day operation of the paint line. This includes investigating production problems, contributing to problem solving and providing production employees with support and direction. Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Manage production consumable inventory: packaging materials, skids, wet section chemicals, solvents, cores, lead strips.
  • Manage paint inventory: run paint usage reports, investigate key variances, identify aged paints for scrapping, enter paint room Oracle data, arrange paint disposal.
  • Contribute to preparation of production schedule: optimize schedule for maximum production efficiency whilst achieving required quality and customer service standards, assign raw coils to orders.
  • Plan production team down day scope: consumable component replacement, wet section cleaning, planning transition from production to down day to production again.
  • Maintain key Oracle data and resolve Oracle production data issues, provide Oracle technical support to the Production team.
  • Support the daily operation of the paint line: support problem solving, investigate problems.
  • Assisting with all safety issues related to production and ensure that safety goals are achieved. Engaging associates in all aspects of safety, meetings, conversations, and incident reporting.

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • 5+ years of relevant experience manufacturing experience including inventory management and production planning

Skills & Competencies:

  • Results oriented attitude with a proven track record of ensuring key deadlines are met
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and leadership skills
  • Excellent organizational skills with the proven ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Working knowledge of inventory systems used to track production, inventory and shipping required
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with team members to achieve planned results

Technical Ability:

  • Ability to understand the operation of moderately complex tools, machines and systems.
  • Ability to operate and understand a variety of computer applications and systems such as Microsoft Office and Oracle.

  • Have a safe work history and ethic, and perform safety, health and environmental inspections.
  • Ability to work extended hours.
  • Ability to travel at limited notice, and for extended periods with notice.
  • Understands time management to follow production plans and schedules.
