Professional Programmer/Analyst

Job Description:

Essential Job Functions

• Interface with customers and vendors as required for shop floor device network connectivity, application/control system implementation and operational support.
• Collaborate with internal "customers" to discuss and document their application and control system requirements.
• Design and create custom business applications to collect, analyze and report data critical to plant operations.
• Analyze shop floor application/control system incidents and debug and/or repair as necessary.
• Modify custom and vendor applications to accommodate new functionality needed to satisfy compliance or business requirements.
• Convert legacy software applications to current technologies (e.g., Visual Basic to VB.net) or upgrade SCADA/control systems (e.g., Allen-Bradley, GE).

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Experience in Manufacturing Operations is highly desired. Knowledge of basic manufacturing principles is required.
• Proficient in a programming language (.NET, C#, java or python) and/or process control systems (e.g., Allen-Bradley, GE, Siemens)
• Experience with Oracle and SQL Server is a plus, including writing SQL queries and stored procedures in Oracle or SQL Server.
• Understanding of networking concepts, architecture and tools is required.

Work Environment

• Must work onsite in Middletown, CT
