Professional Subscriptions Internship, Summer 2023

Are you interested in learning about the business side of media? Do you have an interest in getting experience across commercial, product, and marketing? POLITICO is seeking a results-oriented intern, looking to develop valuable business experience. If you are looking to learn many facets of the business and revenue side of media, this rotation across B2B subscriptions is for you! This internship will feature exposure to product development, business analysis, revenue generation, and how our underlying journalism powers it all. POLITICO's Professional Subscriptions encompasses new products or revenue streams especially as this relates to our current suite of products: POLITICO Pro, E&E News and Agency IQ.

Internship Dates: June 13th, 2023 - August 18th, 2023

Application Deadline: April 7th, 2023 by 5:00 PM EST

Hours: 40 per week

Pay: $23 an hour

What You'll Do:

• Conduct specific research projects, for example into news aggrergator or partnership opportunities
• Conduct usage analysis using readership and consumption data
• Shadow sales colleagues to gain an understanding of the sales processes
• Become adept at using Salesforce, including managing user lists within subscription accounts, entering new accounts and contacts, and creating reports to help organize key accounts and prospects
• Research prospects and contacts for sales and marketing outreach
• Shadow and record key feedback and next steps from client and internal meetings
• Schedule check-in calls for existing clients to gather feedback

What You'll Need:

• A solutions-oriented mindset, good time management skills and the ability to adapt and pivot quickly.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• A passion for journalism, business and a strong client service ethic.
