Job Summary
This position is focused on product changes and product introductions on H-D current production vehicles. The right candidate for this role will be passionate about enhancing rider experience on H-D's existing vehicles by improving components' costs and features.
At a tactical level, the position is responsible for all deliverables within the planning, initiating, executing, and monitoring project phases for current model projects on behalf of supply management, to support H-D design verification, production validation and launch goals. The candidate must be knowledgeable of Development Purchasing procurement activities. This includes but is not limited to supplier selection, project negotiations and project management. This role is highly cross functional internally and externally and is expected to lead supply management activities within the team to identify risks/issues, gain alignment and hold project timing.

Job Responsibilities
- Demonstrates working knowledge and experience in Supply Management.
- Demonstrated experience in working with suppliers executing product development processes.
- Ability to drive results with a moderate level of guidance and direction.
- Able to manage a wide breadth (mechanical and electrical) of components through a supplier's and H-D's product development processes.
- Ensures timely development and execution of components through assessing supplier related risk and proactively mitigating and managing risk. Effectively escalates through help chain, when necessary.
- Resolves problems related to component level product development using analytical thought, exercising judgment and identifying innovative solutions.
- Effectively communicates difficult information such as schedules, budgets, and technical needs and negotiates with suppliers and internal stakeholders to impact positive outcomes.
- Bachelor's Degree Required
Required-
- Typically requires a minimum of 3 years of related experience
- Experience in procurement practices working with engineering, quality, manufacturing and Tier 1 OEM partners
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a group and / or team and provide guidance to new team members
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proven record of relationship building/ influencing skills
- Expert MS Office skills including MS Project
- Travel required up to 10%.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment
- Motorcycle riding experience and knowledge in Harley-Davidson motorcycles and accessories.
