Summary
This position is part of the Organization of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. The incumbent serves as a Program Analyst in the Joint Fires Division for the JCS Staff; Command, Control, Communications and Cyber Directorate (J-6); Joint Fires Division, Joint Close Air Support Branch with responsibilities associated with Digitally-Aided Close Air Support Technical Analysis & Joint Fire Support Joint Mission Thread functions and related activities associated with Branch and Division functions.

- Incumbent may be required to work other than normal duty hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays, and will be compensated within the scope/guidelines of government civilian employment.
Qualifications
A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service:
- Planning, operating and assessing Joint Tactical Data Link (TDL) operations to include at least Link 16, also Variable Messaging Format (VMF), and XML (Cursor-on-Target) standards;
- Applying electromagnetic protective measures in a radio frequency (RF) environment;
- Providing technical guidance and overseeing the interoperability analysis for the Joint fire support mission area, including doctrine, tactics, techniques and procedures, and situational systems;
- Managing data collection, analysis, and compliance assessment of program office systems to support interoperability certification process;
- Communicating within a senior-level, Joint and multi-national environment to include military headquarters staffing process.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Education
Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
