Job Description

ARS is seeking a full-time Program Analyst - Human Subjects with broad support experience within the Department of Defense (DoD) to work on-site at the Air Force Institute of Technology at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base.

Responsibilities:

  • The contractor shall assist in the preparation and submittal of Human Subject Research protocols, exemption requests, and related documentation required for AFIT research under the purview of the Wright Site Institutional Review Board.
  • The Contractor shall track the status of pending approval requests, report due dates and training requirements, and provides timely reminders to Principal Investigators and others as necessary to maintain timelines.
  • The contractor shall schedule quarterly meetings and issue agenda, and draft revisions to ENOIs as necessary, examine all internal review board (IRB) packages for completeness and reject package to the requestor if incomplete, assign IRB package to a reviewer and follow up to complete the process.
  • The contractor shall maintain official records, ensure that reviewers are trained, monitor training opportunities and inform reviewers and submit registration paperwork.
  • The contractor shall prepare and provide annual Principal Investigator training on human subject research requirements.
  • The contractor shall ensure that IRB packages are complete and ready for government review within one day of receipt.
  • The contractor shall facilitate and track survey control number requests in accordance with procedures defined by AFIT's Survey Control Board and AFIT/XP.
  • The contractor shall prepare and deliver overview of IRB and survey control number requirements to incoming students and to designated class sections.
  • The contractor shall review and coordinate updates to AFIT's Human Subjects Research SharePoint site on a quarterly basis.
  • The contractor shall maintain the official files of the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs consistent with Air Force regulations. Facilitate seminar presentations and visit agendas for selected distinguished researchers.
  • The contractor shall review the public website of the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs on a quarterly basis, and coordinate updates to maintain currency of information and effective communication of AFIT research capabilities. Use desktop publishing software and advanced technical writing skills in preparing the Graduate School's Annual Report.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Technical Experience Requirements:

  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Must have and maintain eligibility for a CAC
  • 3-10 years of experience within the Department of Defense (DoD), with a minimum of two (2) years' applied experience in administrative support
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Professional Office Suite Software applications and Adobe Acrobat
  • Able to understand the day-to-day operational needs of customers, identify and execute moderately complex business processes, and propose solutions that meet user needs
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
