Job Description
ThinkWell is an international health systems development organization focused on using tailored health financing approaches to help low- and middle-income countries achieve universal health coverage. We believe that effective health financing systems are essential to ensuring health services are well resourced, high quality, accessible, and do not cause financial impoverishment by those who use them. ThinkWell employs a โwhole-of-systemsโ approach to health financing. We specialize in five practice areas that intersect with health financing: governance, human resources for health, private sector, public financial management, and research and evaluation.
ThinkWell has a growing portfolio of projects in Pakistan and is building a team of talented and motivated staff. We are seeking a Program Analyst to provide technical assistance and analytical and operational support to SP4PHC (Strategic Purchasing for Primary Healthcare), a 4-year funded project by Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and more such upcoming projects in the future. The Program Analyst brings strong quantitative skills and research capacity (usually in health economics and financing), the ability to effectively synthesize and visualize findings, translate messages for various audiences, draft concept notes and reports and provide program coordination support.
The program analyst will be based in Lahore (Punjab) and will report to the Technical advisor in Punjab.

Project Analysis and Implementation
- Understand project objectives, be able to conceptually frame research questions and problem statements, and propose research methodologies and project designs to meet those objectives.
- Provide qualitative and quantitative data analysis across a range of subjects.
- Support systematic literature review, source data, and information on relevant technical and policy issues, and effectively summarize findings.
- Support and develop concept notes, policy briefs, reports as and when required.
- Independently and accurately identify published data and reports from sources to support project analyses and maintain knowledge of such resources to support project efforts and business development.
- Conduct basic quantitative analyses across various topics such as health financing, health expenditures, epidemiology, health systems, and cost-benefit analyses utilizing tools such as Excel and Stata.
- Develop primary data collection instruments for country research studies, such as surveys and semi-structured interview guides; pre-plan analytic methods to inform data collection design and meet project objectives; develop and maintain Excel workbooks for data repository, cleaning, and analysis.
- Develop and apply strategic thinking to projects to formulate preliminary findings and recommendations for consideration and refinement by the project's technical advisors and country director.
Communications
- Draft or revise sections of donor reports and coordinate team member input.
- Support the development of storyboards, structure, and content from compiled data and findings for compelling PowerPoint slide decks which are logically organized and visually appealing.
- Draft correspondence for projects as requested, including meeting agendas and minutes, as well as notes from engagements such as technical reviews, client meetings, and project workshops.
- Occasionally represent ThinkWell with external partners, donors, or stakeholders at meetings and events.
Project Administration and Operations
- Assist with various project administrative and operational responsibilities, including staff training, communications, organizing meetings and workshops, coordinating travel when asked, and drafting donor correspondence.
- Organize and manage version control for project documents, including Excel workbooks, narrative reports, and PowerPoint slide decks, to facilitate team efficiency and accuracy and to ensure high-quality client deliverables.
- Support best practice documents.

- BA/BS and 5+ years of experience or graduate degree and 4+ years of experience.
- Relevant work experience in a management consulting firm, bilateral or multilateral development agency, and/or international non-governmental organization, preferably in Pakistan.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint required; proficiency in statistical analysis packages (e.g., STATA) is preferred; Data visualization techniques/skills would be an added advantage.
