ColdQuanta is the leader in Cold Atom Quantum Technology, the most scalable, versatile, and commercially viable area of quantum. ColdQuanta is dedicated to making quantum a reality through the deployment of information processing systems and the development of precision timekeeping, navigation, signal sensing, quantum communications, and networking solutions.

ColdQuanta is currently seeking an experienced Program and Project Manager (PM) to manage and support both government-funded and internally-defined hardware research and development (R&D) projects and organize associated projects into a cohesive program. The candidate will be responsible for managing multi-disciplinary scientific and engineering teams from ColdQuanta, government research labs, and other private companies to deliver excellence R&D outcomes. The ideal candidate possesses leadership qualities and skills that motivate team members to drive projects to success, as defined by project objectives, requirements, cost, and schedule boundaries. Because ColdQuanta applications extend into other advanced technologies, experience in aerospace systems, automotive systems, and other novel environments is a plus. The candidate will represent the company and project's interests to external stakeholders, setting examples for ColdQuanta performance and identifying opportunities for expanding the company's influence. The Program and Project Manager is a resourceful problem-solver who collaboratively identifies effective paths forward with demonstrated expertise in executing hardware-intensive research and development efforts, and is an articulate, influential, and organized colleague. The candidate must be willing to occasionally travel within the US, will be assigned multiple projects, and will be expected to perform the following tasks

Requirements

Qualified applicants have at least 5 years of experience in a similar role, including experience with US Government contracts, thrive in a dynamic small business environment, and enjoy the unique challenges of high tech objectives. PMP is desirable, but not required for success.

  • Manage a portfolio of projects into a cohesive program including managing purchases, subcontracts, cost, schedule, status, staffing, reporting, and overall communication cadence.
  • Engage as the first point of contact for established customer relationships.
  • Comfortably engage with technical leaders and personnel to assure that the technical objectives are appropriately planned and resourced.
  • Sufficiently learn the technical details of quantum hardware development to be able to coordinate resources across projects.
  • Support proposal development and contract updates by working with contracting, legal, and proposal teams to develop technical volumes, work plans, statements of work (SOWs), project management plans, communication plans, quality assurance plans, risk management plans, and basis-of-estimates.
  • Prepare schedules and budgets in collaboration with principal investigators and stakeholders across project teams.
  • Prepare and monitor scope of work to maintain customer satisfaction and carefully manage change within contract boundaries.
  • Assess and manage subcontractor performance.
  • Conduct risk analysis and develop mitigation plans and strategies to ensure on-time release and delivery of project deliverables.
  • Work comfortably in a matrix environment and effectively influence stakeholders.
  • Contribute to company-wide business forecasts.
  • Develop lessons learned and share innovations resulting from projects.
  • Control project performance including cost, schedule, and technical performance.
  • Establish and communicate project schedules that define critical path amongst cross-functional deliverables.
  • Contribute to technology and product roadmaps.
  • Successful candidates will be Capable of advanced-level schedule and budget tracking with MS Project and Excel.
