Job Description

This position requires controls knowledge and expertise in the discipline of program and project controls and a solid level of understanding of construction industry best practices and means and methods. This position will assist in the definition of the program and project controls based on client/program-specific requirements – including strategy/approach, Controls Plan, and policies and procedures. Lead a team of experts in controls in accordance with the Controls Plan on the program and project-level.


Preferred candidate locations - Chicago, Los Angeles, Boston, or Austin.

Essential Duties of Position

  • Oversee the development, setup, verification and implementation of the program/project controls systems and tools related to all control disciplines.
  • Lead the project controls team in the resolution of program issues and problems.
  • Coordinate review of the project/program controls approach with the client’s leadership staff.
  • Establish in coordination with other stakeholders reporting formats and setup of the control system.
  • Establish and analyze the program/project key performance metrics.
  • Establish and maintain appropriate internal control safeguards to ensure consistent reporting of accurate information.
  • Develop and monitor compliance with controls related policies and procedures.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Position Qualifications

  • Civil/Structural Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management.
  • MBA preferred.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience related to program-and project-level controls on major construction programs. Demonstrated track record of success with progressively higher levels of responsibility.
  • Established track record of leading effective controls teams.
  • Must understand construction means and methods.

Skills

  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Ability to simultaneously manage several assignments.
  • Knowledge of budgeting and cost control, scheduling and schedule management, risk, and document management principles.
  • Excellent professional written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills required.
  • Solid technical and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member to achieve client goals.
  • Ability to effectively participate in and facilitate group meetings.
