Your Role and Responsibilities
As a Program Director of FlashSystems Development you will be a second-line manager in the IBM FlashSystem team in India Systems Development Lab (ISDL). ISDL works on end-to-end development across the Power z and Storage portfolio. You will be leading development/test/performance teams working on various areas of Systems Storage. IBM FlashSystem is a flagship industry-leading block storage platform with a very strong existing customer base and a busy roadmap to further grow business for IBM. You will be part of a global development team with large groups based in Mexico the US UK Israel and of course in Pune. This role reports to the Director of Distributed Storage Development.

Responsibilities:

• People management of Managers and Senior Technical members across development/test/L3 Support teams.
• Planning and delivering the IBM FlashSystem roadmap
• Interlock with global stakeholders to help shape strategy and business direction
• Hiring development and retention of the best talent within our industry.
• Collaboration with teams across multiple geographies and time zones including development managers release managers and project managers.
• Ensuring L3 Development support for functional components owned by your team to provide the best possible support experience for our clients.
• Capex budget planning and management for Pune lab hardware needs.
• Creation and execution of team-level initiatives for innovation skill development customer engagement etc.
• Interlock with local and global operations teams for budgeting and other operational activities.
• Interlock with the Product management team in roadmap planning and decision-making.
• Champion Agile methodology and design thinking approach across all the deliveries.
• Plan and execute early customer engagements through Beta Playbacks and POCs.
• Ensure team compliance with IBM corporation-wide processes and guidelines.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• 15+ years of experience in IT industry
• 5+ years of managing technical teams of 25+ or more employees
• Demonstrated ability to deliver or support technical product offerings
• Ability to communicate with C suite
• Technical and project management experience in the areas of systems – system design Storage systems Networking Protocols firmware Operating systems virtualization and cloud etc
• You will have experience in driving process transformation and innovation in the teams.

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

• Technical skills in the systems or storage domain
• Project and people management experience
• History of leading teams within globally distributed organization.
