Program Director, Technical Integration (IT M&A)
Job Description

Zayo's 133,000-mile network in North America and Europe includes extensive metro connectivity to thousands of buildings and data centers. Zayo's communications infrastructure solutions include dark fiber, private data networks, wavelengths, Ethernet, and dedicated Internet access. Zayo serves wireless and wireline carriers, media, tech, content, finance, healthcare and other large enterprises.
The Office of the CIO is seeking an integration manager with extensive experience supporting technical teams to relentlessly improve the evaluation and integration of acquisitions across the Zayo group. This Technology Integration Manager (TIM) will contribute throughout the highly visible mergers and acquisition (M&A) process, and focus on leading acquired teams and partners within Zayo through the most critical post-transaction integration phases. These responsibilities include partnering with Zayo's corporate M&A Managers, technical business leaders, and other cross-functional teams to define essential technology integration tasks unique to the needs of every transaction. The TIM also identifies common engineering integration problems and codifies learnings to apply on future acquisitions.
Successful TIMs achieve scale by educating and enabling technical leaders at our acquisitions, while also leading active engagement with the broader subsidiary technical community. This requires perpetual invention and experimentation, with limited precedence or top-down prescriptive guidance. Success is ultimately measured through the achievements and productivity of our acquired teams and businesses. While excellent written and verbal communications are essential for any successful leader at Zayo, they are mission-critical in this role to both communicate upwards to Zayo's executive and senior leadership teams as well as the newly acquired engineers and leaders.
Responsibilities:
- Working with the Corporate M&A team, IT teams, and the acquiring technology teams to define critical-path integration projects during the acquisition process.
- Inventing and applying program management mechanisms that drive accountability across the aforementioned teams to deliver on high-value integration activities in the first weeks and months following the completion of an acquisition.
- Lead regular discussions across technology teams involved in integration to make progress and risks visible, escalating when appropriate.
- Document and ensure seamless handoff of integration activities after acquired teams reach escape velocity operating within Zayo.
- Contributing to the development of training programs that help subsidiaries understand how to work with Zayo IT teams.
- Developing programming to help acquired subsidiaries across all of Zayo share technology, expertise and learnings.
Qualifications:

- 5+ years of experience developing, leading, negotiating and executing corporate and/or business transactions
- 5+ years of experience supporting technical or engineering teams
- Strong customer focus, excellent problem solving and analytical skills
- Strong proficiency in writing & communicating verbally across peer group and leadership teams
- Experience defining and leading large, cross-organizational programs
- Track record for managing complex technology projects with aggressive schedules and scarce resources
Base pay range: $120,000 - $160,000, commensurate with experience.
Benefits, Rewards & Wellness
- Excellent Health, Dental & Vision Insurance
- Retirement 401(k) Savings Plan
- Fitness membership discounts
- Generous paid time off policy including paid parental leave
