Program Engineering Manager, Connected Tools Engineering
Job Description:
Responsible for supporting the planning, coordination, and execution of Allison digital & connected product & services development. The Program Engineering Manager develops scope, cost, and timing of technical projects developed for internal & external customers, and then executes those projects through launch. The Program Engineering Manager serves as the liaison between the engineering connected technology organization and the other business functions, including executive sponsors.
Responsibilities:
- Develops & maintains technical project plans
- Develops & maintains development process within connected tools engineering
- Participates with the cross functional product management and product line teams to develop charters & strategic direction for Allison digital & connected products
- Serves as engineering representative to the product line teams to ensure proper execution of each project
- Develops & reports on project metrics & status during leadership updates
- Digital tools technical representative to customers, suppliers, and partners for connected products
- BS in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science or related technical field
- Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related field
- 5-10 years of engineering or project management experience
- Interest in telematics, IoT, and embedded controls
- Proficient in written & spoken English language
- 10+ years of software engineering experience
- Project management experience
- Automotive hardware component experience, including environmental, electrical, and mechanical durability & reliability standards
- Experience with IT cloud services or website design
- Experience in Big Data Analytics & management
