Program Manager
Job Description
About the Role: We are looking for a Program Manager to join our Aerospace and Defense (A&D) team . In this role, you will manage significant and critical capture programs, work cross-functionally, cross-regionally; ensure that programs are completed successfully, on time, and within budget, while meeting quality standards and customer expectations. We are a global team which develops, manufactures, and sells products in the A&D market. The candidate for this role will have experience in the A&D market and specifically with managing programs in the defense sector.
This position offers multiple work arrangements: on-site at our facility in Newark, Delaware, hybrid or fully remote work allowedin most locations within the United States, depending upon the responsibilities of the role and business needs.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the planning and implementation for a set of prioritized capture programs in Aerospace & Defense
- Collaborate with Program Champions to define project scope, goals and deliverables
- Create and implement project plans for implementation to include managing program investment and schedule
- Plan and manage program timeline schedules and investments
- Assess and facilitate resolution of program risks and issues
- Continually collaborate with and manage relevant internal and external stakeholders
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as engineering, business administration, or project management
- Prior experience in program management, especially in the defense industry or a related field
- Experience with military or government contracts and regulations
- Experience in identifying and mitigating risks
- Strong leadership skills are essential for managing teams and driving projects to successful completion; this includes the ability to engage cross-functional and sometimes cross-functional teams
- Effective communication is crucial to engage stakeholders, managing teams, and ensure clear and concise communication of project goals and requirements
- Proven ability to influence, manage performance, and resolve conflicts without authority and across functional and organizational lines
- Ability to analyze complex problems, identify potential solutions, and make informed decisions is important for overcoming challenges that arise during projects
- Ability to gain DoD Clearance
- Ability & willingness to travel up to 25% domestically, with the possibility of international travel
Desired Qualifications:
- Relevant certifications, such as Project Management Professional (PMP) or Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) certifications
- Experience with teaming, price to win, and position to win strategies is valuable
- Solid understanding of the technical aspects of defense projects, including relevant technologies and systems, is important for effectively managing these projects
This position requires access to export-controlled areas and information. Candidates must be "U.S. persons" as that term is defined in 8 USC §1324b(a)(3). The term "U.S. persons" includes resident aliens ("green-card" holders) as well as certain refugees, asylum-holders and residents qualifying for temporary residence under the terms of 8 USC §1255a.
Remote Working Arrangements are permitted for Associates in the continental United States (US) and Canada, with appropriate approval and compliance with Gore's remote working policies, from the country in which they are employed. For fully remote roles, the following locations are not eligible for new fully remote work arrangements: Alaska and Hawaii (for all roles), and Rhode Island (for wage/hourly roles only).
