Program Manager

We have been designing electrical architectures for more than 100 years and leading the industry in the evolution of vehicle architectures. We like to think of the electrical distribution system as a nervous system, moving power and data throughout a vehicle. High-speed data transmission systems send information from the vehicle's eyes and ears (sensors) to the brain (computing platforms).

Your Role

The Program Manager will be responsible for managing complex programs and projects for Aptiv's automotive customers. The successful candidate will have a strong technical background and experience in project management, including planning, budgeting, resource allocation, and risk management. The Program Manager will work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, sales, manufacturing, and quality, to ensure successful program execution.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide launch management leadership to program cross-functional teams to ensure flawless execution during launch phase
• Establish, confirm, and manage the project plan, including coordinating transitions between flow 3, 4, and 5 for program business, engineering, and operations activities
• Schedule gate reviews and program updates with appropriate Program Review Committees
• Ensure program team(s) are capturing and applying lessons learned at each PDP phase and project milestone
• Provide leadership to assure program financials are met, including monitoring program expenses and revenue, forecasting program budget, and reporting program finances to senior management
• Assure the proper level of professionalism and knowledge are maintained in the program team, including providing mentorship and training opportunities for team members
• Foster an atmosphere that supports risk escalation and instills the need to raise issues early in the process
• Maintain required program records and report measurement metrics to senior management and stakeholders
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure successful program execution
• Monitor program performance against established metrics and take corrective action as needed to ensure program success
• Participate in business development activities, including proposal development and customer presentations
• Maintain a thorough understanding of market trends, customer needs, and emerging technologies to inform program strategy and execution.

Your Background

Key ingredients for succeeding in this role are your:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field; Master's degree preferred
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in program management in the automotive industry, with a focus on launch management
• Strong technical background, preferably in electrical or mechanical engineering
• Proven track record of successfully managing complex programs and projects from initiation to closure, with a focus on flawless execution during launch phase
• Experience working with cross-functional teams, including engineering, manufacturing, sales, and quality, to deliver high-quality products to customers
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
• Strong leadership skills, including the ability to motivate and inspire teams to achieve program goals
