Job Description
Reporting to the Director of the Program Management Office (PMO), the Program Manager will plan, manage, and execute a variety of projects across multiple lines of business. Projects may span teams, departments, or the entire company. The position is responsible for working with key stakeholders to identify the business goals, plan the initiative, scope the projects, develop resource plans, and communicate progress. The Program Manager ensures all project activities and objectives are accomplished in a timely, cost-conscious manner, aligned with the strategic goals of GHX.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Identifies and schedules program deliverables, milestones and required tasks, providing early visibility to schedules/milestones that are at risk. Provides supportive analysis that impacts the use of resources.
- Builds detailed program plans and independently manages day-to-day operational and tactical aspects of multiple or large-scale programs.
- Directs, coordinates and partners on resource allocation activities for programs ensuring program progresses on schedule and within budget. Can influence without authority.
- Develop process/guidelines for budget and program cost estimates that sets clear expectations among the team. Partners closely with Finance to build operating and cost/benefit models
- Maintains an overall program level risk and issue log, facilitating risk mitigation and issue resolution across functional managers and sponsors to minimize impact to program schedule and internal stakeholder satisfaction. Asks good strategic questions.
- Communicates effectively verbally, in writing and in creating presentations for senior leadership on assigned projects, articulating risks, status, and appropriate alternatives when required
- Assists team members in completing defined deliverables and in producing key program artifacts to document the program.
- Provides leadership, mentoring, and motivation to program team members throughout the program life cycle. Holds team members accountable to commitments.
- Assists the teams with program best practices, techniques, and tools for program planning, execution, program management, ongoing milestone/deliverable tracking, communication, and key performance metrics.
- Identifies and facilitates opportunities for process improvement both in terms of program management tools and processes.
Knowledge and Skills
- Advanced knowledge of program management methods and processes with demonstrated success in delivering complex program scope on time and within budget.
- Excellent facilitation, communication, and organizational skills.
- Superior ability to multi-task.
- Advanced MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and MS Project,.
- Well-developed interpersonal skills including experience in a customer-facing role.
- Solid analytical and qualitative reasoning skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment, yet be self-directed, proactive, and action oriented.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality, exercise sound judgment in complex situations and function independently with initiative, creativity, and attention to detail.
- Ability to analyze and diagnose program performance problems and execute effective corrective actions.
Required Experience
- Bachelor’s degree and 5 or more years of project and program management experience and in leading large programs to success
Preferred Experience
- PMP Certification
- Objective and Key Results (OKRs) framework
- Work experience in a SaaS company
- Agile certification or experience
- Change management experience
- Budgeting and finance experience
Estimated Salary Range for this position: $94,000 - $126,000
The base salary range represents the anticipated low and high end of the GHX’s salary range for this position. The base salary is one component of GHX’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards and benefits include: health, vision, and dental insurance, accident and life insurance, 401k matching, paid-time off, and education reimbursement, to name a few.
