What You Will Do

We are looking for a Program Manager located in San Diego, CA or U.S. Remote to manage complex laboratory automation programs that consist of multiple related workcell projects and initiatives. This role is an opportunity to work in a highly creative, fast paced environment with an extremely talented, fun, and passionate team. The Program Manager works extensively with the Account Management, Project Management, Quality Assurance, and Engineering teams to apply Biosero’s operational excellence to laboratory automation programs. They manage the planning, strategy, communication, and documentation for programs to ensure that all related projects are delivered on-time, within scope and budget. They must have a passion for details, possess superior problem-solving skills, and enjoy working with multiple cross-functional project teams to ensure that program goals are achieved.

Responsibilities

• Manage software, integration, and automation programs including oversight of all related projects from initiation though delivery
• Collaborate with Project Managers to establish project goals, develop implementation strategies, and assemble detailed project plans
• Identify program requirements and communicate them to project teams and vendors as needed
• Coordinate cross-project initiatives that align with program goals
• Ensure that requirements and customer satisfaction are met while meeting the company’s profitability goals
• Function as the main contact for the program sponsor
• Produce program reports for management and stakeholders
• Work with project teams to track all milestones and activities including documentation, procurement, Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), and project closure
• Collaborate with other program managers to identify opportunities and risks that affect multiple projects within the organization
• Work with cross-functional project teams to ensure that risks are assessed and contingencies are established appropriately
• Perform root cause analysis to make judgments and assess impact to program and projects within the organization
• Recommend innovative ways to improve performance, enhance quality, and support program and project execution on an ongoing basis
• Intermittent travel to customers’ sites as needed

Educational Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in mechanical engineering, biological sciences, or a related field is required
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is required
• Program Management Professional (PgMP) certification is preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Experience Qualifications

• 4+ years of program management experience
• Proficient in MS Word, MS Teams, Office, Excel, Project, Visio and SharePoint
• Experience using additional project management tools such as Jira, SmartSheet, and ClickUp is preferred 
• Experience with laboratory automation, robotics, LIMS, engineering, and biology is a strong plus
• Excellent program leadership, facilitation, time management, and organization skills
• Ability to motivate program and cross-functional project teams
• Strong communication and negotiation skills
• Ability to balance competing interests such as customer requirements, project priorities, and company goals
• Ability to identify and manage areas of risk in customer’s documentation, specifications, or other aspects of the project
• Ability to write and review program or project documentation including reports, acceptance testing protocols, user requirements and specifications, and other quality documents as needed

Benefits

The salary range for this position is $80,000 - $130,000.
