Role Overview:

As a program manager for Boom’s aircraft programs, you will work closely with company leadership, engineering, maintenance, and flight test teams.  Your role is key to program success and will be an integral part of the first flight and the historic first supersonic flight of our aircraft. You will drive operational rigor and harmony, with a focus on cross-functional alignment, exceptional stakeholder management, and managing high-priority tasks that are critical to the program success. Your focus will be on aligning the program goals and objectives with effective management of day-to-day operations and strategic planning. 

We’re looking for a program manager who thrives on making programs effective and successful. In this role, you will develop a deep understanding of how Boom’s aircraft programs operate and partner closely with stakeholders to create cross-functional alignment and achieve program milestones.

Responsibilities: 

  • Responsible for all aspects of managing assigned aircraft program including schedule, program costs, and technical execution support
  • Create briefs, narratives, dashboards, and executive-level presentations to report on progress, actions, and success metrics across the program lifecycle
  • Work with stakeholders to define scope of tasks, assign responsibilities, identify resources required, and develop milestones to ensure program success
  • Ensure stakeholder collaboration and team alignment on high-profile initiatives, and proactively facilitate alignment in a productive and transparent manner
  • Establish program priorities, track regular progress, and develop visuals that enable discussions and alignment from working level to the office of CEO
  • Design and maintain the program roadmap 
  • Build and activate simple, repeatable, scalable approaches that can flex to program needs and ensure information flows effectively throughout the organization
  • Design and execute initiatives that contribute to long-term operational excellence, ensuring milestones have clear success measures and operation plans
  • Proactively identify areas of program risk and work with cross-functional teams to develop mitigation strategies
  • Develop and own communications approach and messages to create consistent updates to all relevant stakeholders on strategy, adjustments, outstanding questions, and real-time progress

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree
  • PMP certification preferred
  • 10+ years of program management or related experience
  • 5+ years of experience leading or conducting complex flight and/or lab testing in an integrated aerospace test team environment
  • Experience managing large cross-functional teams 
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and initiatives simultaneously, on time and on budget
  • Distinguished written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative relationship-building style
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and executive presentation skills
  • Ability to cut through complex issues to find quick wins and make progress
  • High judgment and self-awareness
  • Proven track record for driving alignment and communication cross-functionally within a company
  • Quick and high-quality analysis and presentation creation skills using Microsoft and/or Google suites
  • Experience seeing projects through the full life cycle
  • Bias for action, and propensity for resourcefulness and problem-solving

Compensation

The Base Salary Range for this position is $128,000 to $172,000 and represents the low and high end of the range for this position. Actual salaries will vary based on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Boom’s total rewards package for employees. Other rewards may include performance bonuses, long term incentives/equity, an open PTO policy, and many other progressive benefits.

To conform to U.S. Government aerospace technology export regulations (ITAR and EAR), applicant must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
